Unhappy How do you get off a plateau?

I am and have been on a plateau lately. I just can't rid the weight. I fluctuate up or down a lb. or two. I eat really healthy most of the times... I LOVE fruits and veggies, fish, chicken etc.) MY portions aren't overboard, I eat my 3 main meals and snacks. I've rearranged my work out, kicked it up a notch, watch what I eat, added in my shakes, work out more... but STILL nothing. What am I NOT doing right? This has been going on way to long, I am getting really upset with myself. I know, I shouldn't be but this is soooo nerve wracking, I don't know what to do to get off this no longer wanting or needing plateau. I want to lose weight. HELP! Please!

Hi Pear,
I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time. Weight loss can be more of a challenge for some than for others. Still, the fact that you're here and asking for help and not giving up speaks volumes. I think it would be worth your while to track your food for a while and write down every singe thing that goes into your mouth and to calculate the calories. I know counting calories is tough, but in your situation, I think it would be helpful. Also, be sure to calculate your Resting Metabolic Rate. That way, you'll know how many calories you burn without doing anything. Then, try to eat a little bit less than that (without going into starvation mode) and to continue with the workouts. I hope you figure out this mystery.

I agree with luckymommy. Strength training mixed with my cardio totally helped me get around my bend. I have actually kept up a great weight-loss pace ever since I started my workout dvd.

Well, I was plateauing like mad over March and April.

I did a trial of the Pink Patch which lost me 2.7 lbs in a week and I also dropped 200 calories a day down from 1550 to 1350. Lost 4 pounds over two weeks and have kept on going.

This is my Pink Patch trial diary, although I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

I am actually going to try the whole logging what I eat. Have been doing the less then normal eating route to, but my kick it up a tad when I SEE what it is I actually am eating. Any rec' s on sites? Esp. for a beginner.
