Default Wow!!! nutritiondata.com

This may be old news, not sure how long they've been around, but I just found www.nutritiondata.com, and it tells you the glycemic load of any food you look up. So instead of just calories it'll tell you if it's good for weight loss and insulin. Pretty cool!

ok, that is awesome, the most difficult part of this latest diagnosis (for me) seems to be figuring out the dietary needs of the illness...

I have gained steadily since 1 year before diagnosis despite FEW changes in my eating... I'm eating the same portions, amounts, same amount of activity, etc as 4 years ago... except now, I'm putting on 5-10lbs a month... ugh

I was diagnosed 2 years ago but never followed up b/c of a lack of insurance... too scared to go to the specialist gyno/endo...

anyway, that's for another thread... thank you for this site!

Evertime I try to look up a food on that site, my ISP drops . . . I even registered to see if it made a difference . . . it doesn't. Really strange.

Hmm, not sure why you're having difficulty with it. I'd like to start tracking there every day, just haven't gotten the chnace. But it's fun to play around with.

Like, a full-fat sundae from Cold Stone has a lower glycemic index than their Guilt-less sundaes, lol. This isn't a permission slip to go get one, though!!!
