S/C/G: way to high/ 150

Default Water Question.

This is a ridiculous question, but here goes. How much water am I supposed to drink a day. Is each box on the tracker 8oz? I have been drinking a lot of crystal light. Does this count as water?

according to WW, it's six 8oz glasses of water. each box is 8oz. there is a lot of debate among WW followers and other dieters about whether it has to be pure water. the official WW rule (i think) is that half of the water requirements (3) can be met by other non-caffeinated liquids (juice, milk etc). personally, i also drink a lot of crystal light and i count it towards my water. but be careful about the calories. some things like crystal light have a few cals and if you drink a lot you end up drinking a point away. i buy a generic brand that has 0 cals per serving.

I do believe Princess is right although I would keep an eye out on the points you could potentially be consuming. Also, make sure you're drinking at least some actual water (by itself, no crystal light or anything added).

Princess is absolutely correct. 1/2 of the 6 8oz glasses W/W suggests (which is a minimum a day) can come from non alcoholic and non caffeinate sources.

While I agree that some 'pure' water is essential I know several people who drink sugar free drinks for all of their water with no ill effects. This is a new study out that pure water is not the end all or be all because we get water from all sources INCLUDING caffeinated beverages which are not as bad as we thought for dehyrdating the body.
