Unhappy New and struggling. HELP!!

I`m new to this and decided to join to try and muster some support and enthusiasm. I`ve just started Rosemary Conley, has anyone else had success with it?
I`m struggling already.
I lost 4 stone at the end of 2006 but then I lost my nan and all the fight seemed to go out of me. I`ve since gained 6 stone and am the heaviest and the most miserable I`ve ever been.
I know the reasons why I want to lose weight but am finding it so hard to be motivated. I`m surrounded by the normal people (that I`m sure everyone encounters) who just say `well its easy just eat less and exercise more`. I feel like screaming at them, if only it was that easy. I`ve got my boyf who just says `well I love you however you are` which is lovely and I`m very lucky but it doesn`t help me when I want to raid all the goodies in the house.
All in all I`m feeling very sorry for myself and I hate that more than anything but I can`t seem to snap out of it!!
I`m dreading my summer holidays and need to stay motivated so I don`t have to suffer another holiday of sheer embarassment everytime I derobe!!
Anyone got any advice before I really begin doing my own head in!!

P.S. How do I add my weight tracker on the bottom, I`ve no clue!!

Welcome!!!!!
I know how sucky it can be to hear everyone blab on and on how easy it is to lose weight. If it were that damn easy, this website wouldn't exist!
I'm sorry about your nan, but your bf sounds nice.
Just take ti one day at a time, and post on this website when you feel overwhelmed. There's always someone reading
As for the tracker, I think you have to have been a member 30 days, and made a certain number of posts.
Good luck, and we're proud of you for taking this step!

Hi there TrickyNicky!

It most certainly is NOT easy to lose weight. And it's even harder to keep it off! Those "normal" people you mention are either lying, or not at all normal. There are struggles and choices to be made every single day of our lives about our weight loss. You are not alone!

About being motivated & staying motivated: We can't force ourselves to feel any other way than how we do. Being motivated is a feeling. Well, it's also overrated. Because to get as far as we all have, we have to make it a commitment. That frightening "c" word. I don't frequently get up every morning motivated to pack a healthy lunch. I do it, because I've decided it's what I must do in order to be healthier.

You can commit to changing your life one step at a time. You can build upon those small changes and you'll see some huge differences. You can do this!

Best of success!!!

We all have problems with motivation at times - you are not alone! A couple of weeks ago I got up the courage to come back here after putting on all the weight I lost a couple of years ago. I had no motivation or enthusiasm to try again, but coming here regularly and talking to people (not just about me, but about them) REALLY helped. I am now motivated AND committed (Re. Faerie's post). I've started a journal (which has my goals, why I want to make these lifestyle changes, charts for progress and a diary) which I look at regularly to remind me why I am doing this.

I have also tried Rosemary Conley's hip and thigh diet, and I lost quite a lot of weight and even more inches, but it made me feel really tired all the time. If you are finding it really hard, then maybe it isn't the right diet for you. Don't feel that you can't try other diets too. On the other hand, I have always found the first few weeks of dieting really hard, regardless of what I do, so sticking it out for a little longer could also be the right way forward

Good luck!

Thank you everyone, its good to feel like your not the only one on the planet who finds it difficult!!! What a welcome.
It sounds odd but I never thought of the rewarding myself with hair dos and clothes etc. because I`m so used to using food as a reward (a habit hard to kick) I can feel myself having an excuse to book lots of massages, manicures and pedicures!!! Reward purposes only of course.
I was a little skeptical about joining 3FC forum but now I`m so glad I did, thanks for your good luck messages!!!!

Hi there TricklyNicky

As Chickybird said - you can see on this website that it is not that easy, we all struggle. I think the reward system is great, after all just cos you may be overweight doesn't mean you cannot look after your appearance, and you try opening a pack of biccies with wel nail polish on your fingers!! It you look good you feel good. It is not all about getting a flat stomach (oh please I wish!!).

I am not really following a plan but was with Slimming World for a time so I think that way. However I like Rosemary Conley recipes too I got a veggie vcookbook for hers and often buy her mag. I got the weighing pots too - those coloured pots you weigh food in. I think I will be in for a shock next time I weigh out my cereal!

Welcome aboard! Where are you from??
