Default 300+ April Exercise Thread (no Fools here!)

WELCOME!!

to the April exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2007, we exercised over 200,000 minutes... let's see what 2008 brings!

This will be my first full month to do a goal for.
The goal is 30 min a day x 30 days = 900 mins

Back to it again after a month off the exercise wagon. Setting my goal again at the very obtainable 300 minutes - that I will try to exceed!

I'm back in. I'm going to set my goal at 700 minutes.

My real goal will be to do cardio exercise five times a week. I've been doing 3-4 and need to get more in to help get that scale moving.

Hmmm... it's likely going to change once the pool is open, but for the moment:

5 days a week (90 mins) treadmill = 1980
3 days a week (~30 mins) strength training = 390

(that's 2 days a week doing nothing!)

Total - 2370 for the month

Anne, seriously you're my exercise hero!

I did about half of my goal for last month, so I've got to try a little harder this month. I'm going to hold the same goal as last month 800 minutes and hope to surpass it!

My goal for April is to walk 1200 minutes (or more ). I've already gotten my 40 minutes in for today.

I guess I'm the first.... 90 mins treadmill

Wyoming -
thanks, although you have to remember that I'm pretty much just sitting around the house, with the treadmill being pretty much the only exercise I get. It makes it just a bit easier.

Group total: 40 + 90 = 90
Adding Yayaism's 40 minutes.

I didn't come close to my goal last month, mostly due to a shoulder injury. So I'm going to bring my goal down by 200 mins and go for a cool 1000 mins in April, with the hope of exceeding it.
