Default Salmon

So I thought I was being healthy by having salmon and veggies for dinner. Then I realized after that salmon isn't on the list of foods to eat.

Does anyone know if that's a bad thing? I had 4oz, the regular fish serving. I'm trying so hard to follow the plan.

Thanks

Count it as a protein and a fat and you'll be fine. Plus, with of all things that are off plan, I think salmon is on the healthier end.

Things have changed since I dropped everything, but on maitenenance, salmon and other high fat fishes are typically a fat and a protein depending on the size.

what plan are you on? Is it the numbered plans? I'm on colored and salmon is on there. When i was on the gold plan it was 4oz and now that i'm on red i get 6oz. I just had it 2 nights ago and its actually the only fish that we have besides tuna in a can.

Hi Debbie
I'm doing the LA weight loss numbered plans. The book with all the food listings is called "LA Express Menu Plan Kit" and I'm plan 3 without LA Lites.

Salmon isn't listed in my menu plan but the counsellor did tell me that after 1 month of being on the plan more foods would be introduced. Right now I can't have any pasta or rice but she said that when I get bored of these foods she'd give me a new list of foods with more choices but to stick to this one as long as I can.

Glad to know salmon is on a list somewhere - thanks.

I was told that salmon was ok as an occasional addition to my plan. That said I have eaten it twice a week for the entire time I have been on plan. I have lost 30# in 5 months and feel great.
I put a 1/2 serving of salmon on a big salad with balsamic vinegar- yum!
It is some what higher in fat then other fish but it is a "good" fat and I feel that as long as you are loosing it is better to eat the way you will eat when you stop loosing. I also eat unlimited veggies. Anybody who tells me that veggies will make me fat are idiots. I eat them plain no condiments or fats but have as much as I want.
My real down fall is any starch with white flour (pasta, bread), white rice, and crackers. Peanut butter is another problem but I have that under control as I now put the jar where I have to get a step ladder to reach and put the step ladder in the other room! Oh and cheese...

Tuesday - I saw in a magazine a delicious snack idea with peanutbutter. take a banana (2 fruit servings) and a tbsp of peanutbutter (1protein)

Cut the banana lengthwise and spread peanutbutter along each side. They magazine went further to add in a blob of low fat caramel yogurt and made a parfait.
I eat it without the yogurt but I think it would be good either way.

It's a yummy treat that fits right into the LAWL plan.
mmmmmmmmm!

Heidi - The banana/peanut butter thing sounds great. I've never seen the caramel yogurt but will have to look for it when I go to the store this week.

I also love salmon but DBF doesn't care for it. So I usually only get it when we go out to eat somewhere or are having someone over. Since it's grilling season I think I'll get some and throw it on the grill. Yummmm!!
