Default Very dissapointed

Hiya. Ive decided enough is enough im really going to try and lose weight this time, so I decided to buy some scales. Due to my mass weight I have to purchase scales which take heavier weight and whilst looking I came across some that claim to measure; body fat, muscle, bone mass and water! I thought brilliant so got them home tried them and recieved my weight then "error" I didnt know what was wrong so my partner tried them and his worked. So although the scales take my weight, and more, they cannot figure out the breakdown of it I am very dissapointed. I am trying to not let this ruin my new found positive attitude. I am making a spreadsheet with my weight and measurements every week and my partner (clever sod) is going to set it so it works out everything and shows me my progress, or not whichever the case maybe haha.

How is everyone else getting on, found anything that especially works because I'll give it a go. I am on the slim fast (sort of) I will have the shake fro breakfast but generally have lunch as normal then tea because I find two shakes a day so hard, but im learning to feel hungry again.. I love it!!

dont let anything ruin your positive attitude, keep it up - i think its one of the critical factors to weight loss. A positive attitude and motivation.

Welcome...

keep the positive attitude.. dont lose it, as for the scale, take it back, and contact the manufacturer if you feel like it.. i'm sure that will give you some sort of satisfaction.
And as for the measures you need to make, why dont you do it through your GP, I'm sure they have better much more advanced system/instrument.

Now that you have started, and sure you want to lose... just contniue, dont stop... you will get there.
Good luck

Welcome to our group.

I know the feeling and experience has taught me that big weight-person + multi-digital scale =ERROR. Seriously it is like this things cannot count and handle extra weight. So I went and bought a simple digital one with a 150kg maximum (only shows weight) and it works perfectly. Bought it from Woolworth's , it is an EKS, glass one. Only drawback is that is very slippery so never use it after you get out of shower or bathtub.
