Question Why am I not losing? Please Help!

Hello. I am posting here beacuse I don't know what else to do and I am at a loss! I have been on LAWL for 6 weeks now and have only lost 3 lbs! I am on the 3 plan with lites and I am getting really frustrated! I had a baby ten months ago and I am currently weaning her from breastfeeding, so obviously, I am not sole source. I did LAWL 2 1/2 years ago and lost 20+ lbs, but got pregnant again and for some reason I felt the need to eat like I had never eating before and I know am weighing in at the hightest I have ever been not pregnant. In fact, I weigh now, what I did a birth with my first 2 pregnancys!

Anyways, I have been lurking on this board for awhile and I thought I would finally ask because I am getting very frustrated and sad and I need some help! Help from people who have been on the plan. The gals at my center are doing the best they can. In fact theya re going to call the dietician if I haven't lost any weight the next time I go in.

Thanks for your time and your help!

Monica:

Please provide us with some more information about yourself and your plan. It might help to post a few days of your food diary entries.

There are also lots of threads in this forum that have addressed these concerns for other LAWLers.

Are you drinking your 8 glasses of water a day?
Are you measuring and logging ALL of your food?
Are you deviating from the plan in any way? Eating Food Not listed in the plan books, Too many condiments, too much salt, etc.
Have you tried doing a TAke Off or Fast Forward? These are usually jump starters.

I'm w/ Amy. More info please.

I have noticed that if you deviate from this plan AT ALL you will be stuck. That has been a little frustrating for me b/c on all other diets I have been allowed an "off" day.

When I tried to incorporate an "off" day w/ this plan, I stopped losing. Period.

You really have to follow it to the T if you want to see good results.

I get frustrated too. I'm in my 3rd month and have been bouncing around 25 lbs forever now. But I know it's b/c I'm not doing everything I am supposed to.

How are things fitting? Do they seem loser than they were? You could be losing inches and not pounds.

My total weight loss was only about 7 pounds all in all but I dropped 23 inches or in lay people terms 3 sizes. Just keep that in mind too and keep on at it.

Monica, Please be patient. During the time of weaning it is very tricky to figure out the right amount of calories that you should be eating. So don't get too upset that you are not losing quickly. If you are not the baby's full source of nutrients, perhaps you do not need to be eating as many calories as if you were the sole source. I do think they are being extra cautious with you because you are nursing. Afterall, the baby's health is very important and they don't want to do anything that could ever risk that. I think they are setup with advice for nursing and not nursing, but not so much for part time nursing. I could easily see that being a big enough difference to make or break your weight loss efforts.

Are you sure you are on the right plan? I'm not familiar with numbered plans so i cant help there but its a place to start. I had my baby almost 8mo ago and i'm still breastfeeding. Some weeks i wont have a loss but i make up for it the next week. It would help if you posted a few days of your menu so we can see what you've been having. Hang in there tho, as you know the plan does work.

What are the exchanges for plan 3? I probably have it written down somewhere, but I just don't feel like looking for it. Sometimes, if you are not eating enough you will stall as well.......
