Default Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi I have never done weight watchers, but I have heard how awesome it is. I like the Idea that you can save points and use them on another day, or get more points from working out. I have only tried calorie counting before and it got a little annoying for me, a lot of work and searching.
Is weight watchers easier than calorie counting, what are the differences?
Anyway, Can someone point me to a thread that will explain the basics.
Thanks girls!

I like it beacause you dont have to count calories, just track your points its much easier. you can no longer save points for later like you mentioned, you now get a daily points target and then 35 flex points to use at any time you feel during the week, but yes you can earn extra points through activity but they have to be used on the day you earn them. go to a meeting and you will get all the info you need and the points assigned to food! good luck!!!

Hi vixjean! That thread that Jane linked to will probably answer all your questions for sure. But if you have any others feel free to come back and ask away

I think generally the choice you'd have to make is whether you're completely sick of counting or not. Because one of the great things about WW is that you have two choices -- you can go on Core and not count anything (but stick to a list of foods) or you can go on Flex (and count all day, but smaller numbers than cals). Both plans give you the flexibility you're looking for (both Flex and Core give you a bank of 35 weekly points to allocate as you wish).

Good luck, vix!

i love ww so much because for the first time in my life i control the food going into my mouth instead of the food controling me. if gives me simple structure and that is just what i need.
and if i follow the good health guidlines and i never get hungry in fact, i've been doing this since october and have NOT ONCE gotten hungry or binged.

good luck to you

This is also why I love WW. The first few weeks I was on it, I couldn't trust that it was working because I was NEVER hungry. I had to work to get all of my points in most days. I had it stuck in my head that losing weight = starving. It doesn't. It's just making better food choices. I found that I was eating more in quantity but healthier food all around once I was being made aware of what I was putting in my mouth. That tub of Hagen Daaz wasn't so appetizing after I learned that it was worth 28 points! Hmmmm ... ice cream or eat for the whole day?

I think about things like this too! I'll go to DWLZ or similar sites with comprehensive restaurant points listings and just shake my head in disbelief -- Hmm, I could eat this 44 point ENTREE or eat for two whole freakin' days!! It's just unbelievable what passes for nutrition!!
