Good Morning Again !

The little snot nose is up early again, poor kid can't breath, neither can Mommy, sore throat and all eeeek.

Well sore throat or not I need my coffee. Today is food shopping day which I hate, people in the stores act as if they are giving it away free. And RUDE!! uhh. I just go through the isles singing to myself, if I don't I'm liable to run someone over with my cart full of baby sweet potatoes.........hehehehehe. Now aint that a purty picture this time of the morning.

Have a wonderful Sunday all..........

Remember:
This is the day the Lord has made, be glad and rejoyce in it.
Love, Leens

Good Morning, Leens, and folks to follow.

We are back to Winter Wonderland again - got a good dump of wet snow overnight. Maybe I will make a snowdog or two after Church. The dogs love it, of course, but it's the kind of snow that makes white marbles on their furry toes. Oh well, chewing them off kept them busy while I made coffee and breakfast. Hershey is very motherly and helps Lucy before doing her own.

Did not get my meatball soup made yesterday as we went out for lunch at the Pub. Spent about two hours drinking coffee and chatting with the owners which kind of messed up my afternoon. DH was on dinner duty but did not get started until 6:30. Naturally the man choses a recipe which starts out "Soak dried tomatoes for 45 minutes"!!! Anyhow, it was good when we finally got to it - by then, roadkill would have been good!

Church in 45 minutes, home to make the soup and then the rest of the day is all mine!

Have a good Sunday.

Morning all! Well I survived my 12 hour shift yesterday, haven't done alot of those in my career and they take some getting used to....if I worked full time I would be skinny, man did I walk a lot. I want a pedometer..would be interesting to see how many miles a person makes....Leens we can all tell who has the little babe...up early, I remember those days! How has back to work been? Sounds like you are well on your way and in a routine...Ruth glad you had a day of visiting and relaxing yesterday, that is important too! Tippy, thinking of you...life is difficult.

Happy Sunday one and all! Liz

Good morning Leenie and Ruth!

Today is groceries for me too Leen, I just hate it, too. Especially when it's crowded. Today is off to BJ's to get the big stuff, and then a quick run into the regular grocery for the little stuff! I think I'll make a london broil and a big salad for dinner; with a baked potato for DH he'll be in heaven!

Had Chinese food for dinner last night, so I have those very attractive, puffy fingers this morning. Am staying far away from the scale! Water and more water today!

I am happily getting ready for my vacation starting Friday, for a week in Ft. Lauderdale- plus a day or two up with friends who will be staying where the Met's have spring training. They have 3 boys, 8,12, and 15- so we'll have fun I can't wait to leave, I have put this vacation off for work reasons twice- so I am especially eager to get there and just CHILL!

Hey Tippy! As a psychologist, and a person who spent a good amount of time in therapy, I have come to believe that our early life and parenting is important. BUT! As we go through our 20's and 30's (and 40's and 50's and 60's and more I hope!) our job is to continue to grow and take responsibility for what kind of person we are. It ain't all Mom's fault! I hated reading that you blame your son's issues on yourself- it sounds like a large part biology(your issues with sugar/carbs and his issues with alcohol are related. You know. the serotonin thing!) So this is a HUGGG for you, and a prayer for the kids! I'll bet you are a great grandmother- what a wonderful thing to have!

Have a good one, chicks

Oh no, I don't blame my son's problems on his childhood...he does! Remember, he is an addict and he will attempt to manipulate the facts in any way so as to not take responsibility for his behavior!
While I believe that our childhoods influence us, I think we are the ones to take responsibility for our lives!
The real victims in this mess are the two daughters born to those incredibility selfish parents.

Whewww....

That sounds better! I'm glad-

Addiction is hard to watch- but you sound like a veteran! And a great grandma! You still get the HUG and PRAYERS!

Tippy, those grand daughters are blessed with a caring, intelligent and sensible grandmother. Shall we call in an Uncle Vinnie to off the parents?

Hang in there, Sweetie. Nothing lasts forever - even nothing!

Tippy, I just want to say that my mother is exactly the same way as your son. Finds everyone else's fault but her own. All you can do is do right by your grandaughters and help them any way they need and that way they'll have some help getting through all this mess. (((((((((TIPPY)))))))))--hope you felt it!

My day iis already a wash since dd decided that 5 am was a wonderful time to get up. Not too thrilled with that. Endedup having a headache and went back to bed until 12:30--aren't I a sloth? Just plan on doing some light housework and some last loads of laundry.

Have a good one
