Default Do you find the Ticker Goals Useful or Not?

When I restarted my journey in August 2006, I found them a GREAT tool. Then as I backslid and had problems with staying on program, I felt they taunted me and were a negative thing for me.

Input on how people feel about these? I just found my way again and I'm almost ready to do the ticker again but part of me is afraid to set myself up for goals I can't accomplish.

Thoughts?

I like the ticker, I look at as documentation , and am about to change it to show my highest weight , ever, Right now mine shows a restart weight. There is something about seeing it in black and white for all the world to see that seems to keep me on track.

Laura, perhaps you need to pick a different goal, a mini goal perhaps, you can change it later.

Weirdly enough for me thats the best part of weigh in day for me. Knowing that i get to hopefully put in a lower number and see my slider move to the right is a great thing for me. Keeps me motivated.

I enjoy moving my ticker down, but I must admit that if I go up the tiniest bit I do not move my ticker back. (That would not be motivating to me.) What helps is seeing that I must stay on track to make my ticker accurate, yet again, and then to move it down even more!

But if something is a constant de-motivator, then it's best not to use it.

I think I like them mostly cause they're pretty, I don't know, it's kinda inconvenient to have to change it, though I am kinda lazy sometimes, not that i've really had that pleasure or anything except changing my goal or just changing the ticker all together!!

I love changing it to a lower number. It's kind of like the scale, if it's a useful tool, use it.

I wanted a fresh start in '08 so I started mine over. It was hard giving up that high starting number, but when I put on the line saying that I lost in '07 I felt better about it. Now I'm used to the new one and I love it!

Your siggy inspired my snail on my tracker!
