Default Thursday February 7 - Daily CLuck!

Another gorgeous February day coming up! Just that little extra daylight at the margins of the day seems to make a big difference.

Have to make DH eat something, clean his teeth and shove him out the door for his dental appointment. He is just like a kid over going to the dentist - I think he hopes the office will burn overnight or something!

Back in a bit.

Morning ladies,

Just another boring day, Love it! I need some boredom in my life for a while.

Ruth, I know how men can be with appointments. Once my dh has one he is pretty good about making it there. His problem is making the appointment. He has trouble calling doctor/dentist offices. He will often call me a work and say one of the kids is sick, give me the symptoms and suggest I call the doctor. Go figure!

Nice to hear from you mamaj, I am always thinking of you and your ds and dd, take care.

Pooky hope the job interview goes well. I sure you will do just fine. Be confident!

Chickadee, hope the FIL continues to do well.

Hugs to all!

Hi Ruth! Hi Jenny! Hi Leens! to all who come!

Jenny, I looked at that site you posted yesterday for aspergers and could not find it. I booked marked it (because I liked it!) and will try again today. Thanks for thinking of me!

Went to my weigh in today and since I just got tom, I was bracing against any phyco damage that may result. I was fussing because I have kept to program and know that I had dropped a couple of pounds until that monthly thing. BUT! I did manage to drop 1.5 pounds so I was encouraged!

I really liked the leader she talked alot about the importance of protein and BALANCE!

Sooner I owe you, Chickadee, I owe you too!!

oh and Spot....how did it go? yes, (she says wheeping) they ripped my Santa away very sad!

Good afternoon everyone!

I'm all doped up right now since I had to take some medication this morning because I had a panic attack. God I hate when that happens. I just feel REALLY tired right now but don't you worry--I am DEFINITELY going to that interview today! I figured I would feel stress over it, and I did nip the attack in the bud so to speak, just a sleepy Pooky right now. Dh will drive me to the interview since the new meds I have are narcotics. I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow.

Going for a long snooze now...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Afternoon/evening chicks!

Gorgeous day here too, Ruth. Snow's melting -- just got back from a drive into the city -- so beautiful to see the glistening white hillsides w/the the hazy-gray treelines in the distance. Never thought I'd wax poetic about Iowa, but I guess I've grown accustomed to her face.

Not too much going on here -- pretty quiet since Superbowl Sunday -- but we're getting ready to head south for a weekend trip to St. Louis tomorrow. This is a real stretch for DH who hates cities (but loves me) and is going along at my request to celebrate my birthday. My girlfriend has been scouring the city for something Tom might be interested in doing there and was surprised to find a new Bass Pro store has opened...that will keep him occupied for hours. Usually I don't take him and girlfriend and I hit all the cheap furniture and craft stores; then make at least one trip to The Hill for cannolis and toasted ravioli -- wouldn't you know that Tom hates Italian! Doesn't that seem almost sacreligious?!

I'm looking forward to getting away...and doing grownup stuff instead of college kid stuff...not that that's a bad thing -- but what I love about visiting my girlfriend and her DH is how much we laugh. She's the funniest person I know -- except me (and you, Peach, btw...I think Joy Behar is hilarious!)

Oh, and Peach -- congrats on living through your second weigh in! I went in today just to get weighed as a kind of reality check before heading south. Not too bad...up about a half a pound -- sure could have been worse considering how many Hooter wings I scarfed down last weekend! (Losing makes me HUNGRY!)

Oh, and Chickadee -- you'll be delighted to know that I took down my beloved Christmas decorations! It was so hard...but the social pressure to CONFORM was more than my fragile psyche could endure...NOT! I only took them down because I missed my rocking chair which had been moved into the dining room to make room for my glorious tree! Anyway, if you're ever in Iowa you can come visit me w/no fear of being infected w/the Dreaded Delayed De-Christmassing Virus!

Hope your interview went well, Pooky. Sorry to hear about the panic attack -- good for you for catching it early.

Leens -- how's the job going? Getting any easier w/Gracie?

Jenny -- happy boring day to you. Hope your evening's just as boring!

Everybody else -- good to see you all on the boards!

Have a great evening! It's a gift!

Just time for a quick hi to everyone- got to share the computer with DH, who wants to learn now to pay the bills online. I have done this for ages, but he wants to learn- so here we go.

I am off to maine for the weekend, just to lay low, and think about life! I am in one of my moods- hate my job, irritable and cranky, tired. A few days with my friend's 3 little boys always makes me run home loving my life and peaceful home! LOL, not really, I love the kids, and love visiting them. I always struggle with this balance- making a rewarding life, even with no kids. I tend to put too much emphasis on work, then get stressed out over it. Kids keep you more balanced, I think- their needs are so immediate! Well, at least DH is like a big kid!(a nice way to say immature!)

I'll be back Monday night late, so I'll check in here Tuesday or wednesday! Have a good weekend!

Default Evening, ladies,

Rainy, grey day here today. But maybe the rain will warm it up a bit - we've been having really cold nights for the last few weeks and after all, THIS IS CALIFORNIA, for Pete's sake! (can you tell I hate the cold?)

Chickadee - I hope your FIL is better. Sending healing vibes his way. Good luck with your plataou (I know I spelled that wrong...) buster diet.

Pooky - Oh sweetie! I was kinda worried about that interveiw throwing you for a loop - glad you caught it early. I'm sure you will do great! Can't wait to hear about it.

Dottie - You know we wouldn't preasure you to do anything you didn't want to do. I really, truely, honestly can not beleive that 'I' have joined a gym! I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Janice - So glad to hear things are going better with Stephen. You helped lay the foundation for that boy and so you knew that he would come around. (you were just worried how long it would take!)

Ruthie - Sure are glad you head up our little coop here! And I LOVE your dogger stories - Don't you dare stop telling them!

Sooner - Enjoy your trip! Sounds like you will have a great time even if your DH tags along! (darn about your de-Christmasing! I always get a giggle with I read your posts and think of you still all festive!)

Peachie - How you doing, darlin'? How are those boys? Worm season is just around the corner, isn't it? Bet the lil' guy can't wait! Sometimes I give my puter an impromtu (isn't my spelling just great today?) shower also. I hate it when I do it with my morning coffee!

Leens - I feel for ya having to go back to work. I had to do that after all 3 of my babies (who are 15, 13, & 11 now) and I can still remember that hurt. Hang in there and just hold that sweetie when you get home. The dusting, vacuuming, washing can wait.

-------Well! That was pretty good, huh? I didn't even take notes! Sorry to all that I left out! There is only so much space in this ol brain of mine. I'm sure your details are in there but my upload process doesn't work like it used to.

Curves for Women report: Ok, so I did the unspeakable, the unbeleivable, the unthinkable and (gasp!) joined a gym! Who was it that posted here a while back about Curves? Can't remember but I had been toying with the idea since then. Several things appealed to me about it: Only woman (and not really a place that you would have 20 year old hardbodies strutting around. NOT that there is anything WRONG with 20 year old hardbodies), exersize at your own pace, and the workout is only 30 minutes long. I had even gone so far as to look up Curves in my area to see how close one was. At the time, the closest one was about 20 minutes away or so. Since I do bookkeeping from home, I really didn't want to take an hour + out of my day to exersize. (silly, I know. I should be putting myself 1st but if I don't work, I don't make $) Well, 2 weeks ago I was driving thru the parking lot of a small shopping center that is about 5 minutes from my house and there it was: a new Curves. Figured it was a sign that I shouldn't ignore and the rest is history.

I did the measurement thingie end of last week. OH, Horror of Horrors!!!! I asked if my record could be sealed and said that I would pay extra to make sure that NO ONE ever sees those numbers again. I went in today for my 1st work out and I have to say that it went very well. I really hate to exersize but you only stay at the station (there are 10 - and you go around 3 times) for 30 seconds and then the music recording tells you to switch. I can do it for 30 seconds at a time! So I am doing some squats and I'm thinking "this sucks. I don't like this. I don't want to do this. It hurts, etc." and then the music tells me to switch and I go to the next thing and it isn't bad and I can sneer and stick my tongue out at that squat station. I am going to try to work out 4 times per week. The lady said that I would see results with that (even with just 3 times per week) even if I am not watching what I eat too much. I have hopes that if I am seeing results, I will be more motivated to eat better. But I am not preasuring myself and will just take it a step at a time.

So thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Who would have ever thunk? Kel participating in the dreaded 'E' word????

Love ya guys,

Kel
