Talking Hello... I'm new.. :)

Hi all... just found this site through an article in People magazine and thought it looked like a great place to find people like me!

I have 3 children so I of course over time I gained the mandatory "baby weight". My youngest turned 4 about a week ago so I really can't use the "I had a baby" excuse any longer.

I started an exercise and diet plan last year and did well for a while but a surgery and lack of motivation crashed my plans and I became discouraged and... just decided to eat what I wanted.

I have a beautiful family and I am embarrassed to take pictures with them and sometimes even to do fun things because of my weight. I think I am finally over the hump of discouragement and back on track to meet some goals.

I have reduced my calorie intake to 1400 per day and added exercise 4 days per week with another day of a "family fun" activity that includes some form of exercise. I gave up soda!!!!!!!!!!!! I am two weeks in and down 6 lbs.

Today I am 205 lbs and hoping to be 50 lbs lighter by May 22. I know its a lofty goal but I would really like to wow my husbands family when we visit in May. That will also put me 20 lbs from my goal weight.......

I hope to find lots of great advice and most of all support from this board.

Welcome-----and I am new too. It sounds like our stories are very much the same. Babies and baby weight---my youngest is 6 so no, she is far from being a baby (although she still acts like it )
Our goals are similar as well. I'm working towards a 60 lbs lost goal by April!! Down 17 already!
Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi all, I'm new (& old) too! I actually joined back in 2004 for journals and did that for awhile before I fell off my plan and basically gave up. I came back this week because I wanted someone to be able to talk to about weight issues and weight loss because I don't really have anyone in the real world that I can share things with about weight.

I have 3 kids, all girls, 2 of them competitive gymnasts so I am around fit people all the time. I'm tired of being the unfit one.

My goals besides weight loss are to be able to do a pull up, which I have NEVER been able to do. That's all for now!
