Default Lose 8lbs in 3 days?

I had a friend email me this plan- one of her friends lost 8lbs on it in 3 days, so now she wants to try it. I dunno, to me, it seems like you have to starve yourself, until you gorge at dinner. What do you guys think? A load of crap?

1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 slice toast with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter

Lunch

1 slice toast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Dinner

3 oz. any lean meat
1 cup green beans
1 cup carrots
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 medium apple
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Dinner

2 beef franks or hot dogs
1/2 cup carrots
1 banana
1 cup broccoli or cabbage
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

I have heard about this diet. My friend did it. I believe she lost weight, but you have to have a lot of discipline and then you eventually gain everything back when you start eating regularly again. I don't think it's worth the 3 days of starving yourself.

My first impression is that 8 lbs in 3 days is probably just due to water weight. I don't think it is physically possible to lose 8 lbs in 3 days!

BTW I put one of the day's foods into FitDay and it was under 1000 calories. That seems to me like it would be hard to maintain in the long run! From personal experience, today I ate only 1000 cals because I overate last night, and I was hungry. It was hard.

I did something like this when I was on Lindora. It is the water weight that you are losing but I also had a meal plan for after the three days and I lost alot of weight. You also have to exercise at least 30 minutes a day and it's not just a stroll in the park, it's the vigorous type of exercise for it to work. I loved it. I still have the list of food that I can eat. It worked wonderfully. I even lost more weight after I had stopped lindora. If anyone has questions about it pm me.

I actually did this diet when I was a teen!!! Yea I know the naiveté of childhood.

Anywho, it's not worth it, the food sucks, the ice cream was my highlight of the whole thing. Besides 8 lbs. in three days isn't healthy.

That's what I was thinking! Not to mention she'll go straight back to eating normally and her body is gonna horde those calories!

Ahh well, would have been nice if ya'll had said "Yep, works great, keeps the pounds off for life", but I knew that wasn't happening

I would be interested in knowing if it worked, (I couldn't do that there is just not enough food).

We should call it the 8 lb ice cream diet!

Good Foods, just not enough in my opinion.

Is there something I'm missing? Why all the vanilla ice cream?

No idea! That's exactly what she sent me, only it was in more of a chart form. I literally just copied/pasted lol.

I would imagine the ice cream is there so that people look at it and go, "OMG, I can have ice cream?? Every day?? And lose 8lbs???? BRING IT ON!!"

Marketing ploy. Preys on people who are discouraged from dieting because a) they aren't patient enough to lose healthily and b) they don't think they can eat junk and lose weight. (You can... if it fits into your plan... but whether you should or not is a different matter.)

Well, if they really wanted to get my attention, they would have not made it vanilla ice cream, but Ben and Jerry's strawberry shortcake.
