Wink New member to SW

Hi

I've just joined SW as I think it does seem a very healthy way to lose weight.

Any one else out there doing it and would like to give advice etc?

Is there a dedicated forum in cyber land for SWers?

Thanks

Saz

Well done for joining SW - I don't think there is a SW thread on 3FC because it is an UK company - I don't know about other general diet websites though. I know DietTalk hasn't got one.

I know there is a proper SW website http://www.slimming-world.co.uk/ but I am fairly sure there isn't any message boards there. Perhaps you could start one. Not that I'm trying to chase you away - far from it - it would be really nice to hear how you are getting along, especially as a couple of us (including me) are considering changing over to SW at some time in the future.

Sarah Ann

there did used to be a Forum on the officical web site but used to crash due to overuse! A shame really.

What are you on ? WW?

I have had success with WW but I also do like my food and got fed up with the counting of points expecially for fruit!

I could start a daily thread for SW if enough people were interested on here.

Is there an offical SW magazine. I was in the shops yesterday and there were two Slimming magazines, but I couldn't tell which was the official one. One however did have a free book with it, can't remember the title though.

BPB its Slimming World Jan/Feb I think

It has a woman with a glittery dress on the cover. There is a free booklet - a food diary thingy - not a Novel as with Slimming

Buy the magazine (Slimming World) in class as it's a lot cheaper than at the newsagents.
Good luck with the plan - I'm 6 pounds down and loving it!

Are you a Red day or Green day woman?

What do you eat on a day to day basis?

I'm eager for tips esp quick sauces for meat/fish/salads etc.

How do you moisten your sarnies?

btw, there is a forum on msn, Slim with us on the SW Plan, and one on Yahoo I think. It's okay for recipe ideas and so on.

I'm strictly Green as I'm a vegetarian and the red day doesn't hold much of an appeal for me!
I eat tons of pasta with vegetable sauces and olive oil which I take from my Healthy Extras. I make big chillies and curries and use lots of pulses. Kidney beans etc are great pureed and used as a kind of pate, especially flavoured with cumin and other spices. I'm not much of a sandwich person to be honest, but I would just use a scraping of Flora (1.5 sins for 1 tsp) or mustard maybe.
Have a look at the Forum I mentioned - I'll try and send you the link.

I think this should work - I've got it open in the other window!!

I love to eat all those things and am happier on Green but I tried this once and actually gained weight! I can eat a LOT of rice/Pasta - think I'm carb addicted. Also on Red feel less bloated and eat a lot less. Will do both and lets hope I can lose it this time as I really like the concept of it.

When did you start?

I started just before Christmas, and then was faced with weekend after weekend of socialising, mainly with my family, so I haven't done that well really. But I love the classes, they're so friendly and lots of fun with no judging going on. I think you do generally lose more on red (although no-one will admit it officially!) and with green you have to watch the sauces etc. I just love having big piles of food instead of weighing out 3 oz of stuff.
Good luck,
Anna
