Default Television ~ A Christmas Story

In our house we have the movie A CHRISTMAS STORY on TBS running pretty much non-stop for background. I think it has been on since about 6:00 o'clock last night seems we do this every year...anyone else?

I've never seen A Christmas Story. At least I don't think I have.
I don't have a TV but I'm cat-sitting at a house that has a TV so I watched Rachael Ray and Paula Deen make some pumpkin thing together last night. Kind of cute/kind of boring.

I despise most Christmas movies. I do like to see Come to the Stable from time to time, but it is hard to find on TV. We have a video. Loretta Young, Celeste Holm, Elsa Lanchester. Old, black and white.

We end up with it on , too, every year. This was Kyle's first Christmas of actually watching it with us and when Ralphie was made to put on the pink bunny outfit, he said, "I feel his pain!". He liked it.

We pulled a Red Rider BB Gun moment on our daughter, Shelley, too. She wanted Rock Band DESPERATELY for the 360, but we told her we couldn't find it anywhere. We wrapped it and hid it behind the recliner and when we were all done unwrapping and she was pretty content with the realization that we couldn't get it, we told her to look behind the recliner and she just about passed out. It was GREAT!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!

My son, at that age, looked like Ralphie lol. I love that movie. We watch it a couple of time during the christmas season.

My family watches it too! Usually it is so crazy that it's just background noise and people just pay attention when it's their favorite parts. This Christmas I wasn't able to go home, but my mom sent the dvd! So I watched it while making Christmas dinner

This is one of those movies that I've never seen all the way through. Something always interrupts it and I miss out on something. One of these days I'll have to actually sit down and watch it.

I too have never seen it. I think I have caught about 5 minutes of it, that is all. One day I will have time to sit and watch it.

I watch it every year. Mostly when i'm wrapping gifts or making christmas cookies. I always sit and watch it a few times then it's just background noise as we wait for christmas morning.
I have to watch it at least once every year. Everyone in the family hates it, but it's just not christmas unless I see it just once.

We LOVE the movie! We love that it takes place in the 40's or so. We love the extra DVD in the 2-pak with the narrative on how the movie was made and interviews with the producer and characters. Our favorite part is definitely the Chinese restaurant when the goose was looking at them and the chef CHOPS the head off! WHACK!!!!! It's just hysterical!

Other faves around here: Christmas Vacation, Prancer, Santa Clause, It's a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, Little Women (starts out at the Christmas season and is done really beautifully), and we really enjoyed a lot of the Hallmark specials this year.

I bought the DVD and let my 6 year old watch it this year....never realizing the little kids actually curse in the uncut version Its a fun movie.

My favorite is A Year Without A Santa Clause.... love the heat miser (the miser brothers)

Another great movie is The Santa Clause with Tim Allen (actually all 3 of them).

Had it on the station most of the day until DH said no more, lol! I love that and can never get enough, too cute. Also watched Elf a couple of times, Home Alone 1 & 2 I think 3 times and Christmas Vacation...those I have to say are my favorites at Christmas time.
