Hi, Rose. I started with The Firm: Basics. There are 3 tapes. They mix aerobics with strength training, and they were the only video workouts I was able to do a year ago. (I had been a total couch potato.)
After I had done those for a couple months, I moved on to Leslie Sansone's 2-Mile Walk. This is the old tape, from the mid-90s. Not her new ones. (It's the one with a meter at the bottom that tells you how "far" you've walked.) This is a GREAT tape. It's extremely easy to do, and it's a good aerobic workout. You can stop after one mile if you like.
I recently got Leslie's 3-Mile Power Walk, and I found it actually a little too easy. The 2-Mile walk is just a better workout, I think, even now.
For more fun, though, I recommend any of Richard Simmons' workouts. His "Sweatin' to the Oldies" (first one) is great, and that one was more my speed initially. All his oldies tapes are good for beginners. Leslie is getting a lot of publicity right now, but her music is BORING. If you'd like a little more spice and a lot more fun, try Richard.
Good luck!
