Are you doing a low carb diet? Because 30-40 percent is low to normal for carbs where I'm coming from. I aim for a 40/30/30 split of carbs/protein/fat percentages. I use Fitday, too. It doesn't seem like you are doing anything wrong, you've lost 7 pounds already!

IMHO - 2 pounds a week is a healthy rate of loss. Given, the 5 pound week was bound to be higher because it was your first...but even so, congrats!!
What makes you say your carbs are out of control?
