Smile Newbie in Oregon!

Hi there.
My name is Melissa, I am 29 and live in Portland, oregon. I have been married since february 2004 to my college sweetie, Rob. We have a 2.5 year old son, Chandler. We are trying to get pregnant with our second and final child! YAY!

I just started my lifestyle change a week ago. I am thrilled to be on such a great support community. I am working with a trainer at 24 hr fitness and bought the bodybugg. I had my first trainer session 2 days ago and my legs are killing me. But I am heading to the gym this afternoon!

My starting weight was 313. Before I had my son it was 334, so I am getting there. My goal is to have a healthy BMI, so weight goal around 170-160.

I look forward meeting you all!

Melissa -

Oooh... you have a bodybug? I am major gadget jealous. That thing looks really cool. I love my heart rate monitor, but it is so low tech compared to that. That is great that you have joined a gym and are working with a personal trainer and everything. That is definitely one of my cornerstones for losing weight. Another one is the support I get on this site. It is an amazing board with great people! Please feel free to jump in on the numbered weekly threads. Don't worry about personals - just start posting and after awhile you will get to know everyone.

Welcome!! Good to hear you're working with a trainer. I really love working with one! What are your workouts with your trainer like?

Since you're already working out, I suggest you join our monthly exercise thread. We're working to exercise 200,000 minutes this year and could use help getting there!! We track the number of minutes we exercise! Think about it!
