Default Walking Work-Station

So I find myself sitting in front of my computer a lot with my treadmill unused behind me. So I searched for a "Laptop Table". I found all kinds of walking work stations. Even a Mayo Clinic doc is doing a study and found that even walking work stations can be extremely beneficial.

OMG!!!

So I got a bungee cord and strapped my laptop to the top of my treadmill and I am currently walking at a 2% incline at level 2 speed. My HR is at 60 % after almost 10 min. Once I get the hang of it I'll switch to my fat burn program.

My 10,000 steps just got a little easier.

I definitely need to look into that. I am such a time watcher when on my treadmill. The laptop would make the time go by faster.

No treadmill here.

I'd probably end up on the floor anyway.

OMG I would totally fall off! That's a really cool idea to walk & work at the same time!

What a great idea! I've been trying to figure out a way to pull off a computer work station, and it never occurred to me to use a laptop. Though now I have to buy one

Talking

Well, I do have a laptop and wifi in the house. Maybe I could just walk around while surfing.

(probably run into the wall or trip over the coffee table)

You go slow enough that you don't fall off. The study said 1 mph but I feel like I trip trying to go that slow. I never go over 2mph. If I feel like I'm not keeping my hr up enough I change the incline. I walked 7 miles last week (30 min miles).
It's called NEAT (Non-Exercise activity thermogenesis). The stuff like tapping your feet, laughing, chewing gum...that burns little calories. Walking 1mph for an hour burns an average of 100 calories. Search for Dr. James Levine of the Mayo Clinic to see MSNBC, CNN, and other articles about this.
I'll try and post a picture of my current set-up.

Interesting, walk slow and up the incline. I'll have to try it when the weather gets too rough for walking outside. I love Pogo games, if I can work them in with exercising, the guilt factor will go down considerably
