
Leah! Veggies are great snacks but you can dunk them into hummus or a little peanut butter to help make them more satisfying. If you are hungry, eat! Make sure you get protein with every meal and snack. You may feel a little icky the first days while you are "detoxing". The chicks say eating beans and lowfat/nonfat dairy really helps.
I lost 5 lbs on Ph1, I didn't worry about portions, just ate as much as I wanted because I was terrified of hunger. Once I got through Ph2, I got a little more serious about portions, but a great feature of this way of eating is that you never have to let yourself go hungry.
I did not exercise during Ph1 either, but I think you can just go by how you feel, if you are feeling up to it or not.
