Default Will this hurt me?

So, I am really good about saving my 35 extra points for a nice treat. I really love the Chocolate Extreme Blizzard from Dairy Queen (the small is 16 points). My weakness is definitely sweets.

Will it hurt my weightloss if I eat two blizzards a week assuming that I stay within all of my point ranges?

That's a really good question. I am interested in what others who are more experienced than me, would say.

My best guess is that eating two would be absolutely fine, as long as:

1. You do have those extra points to spend. After all, if you do not spend them by your week's end, they are gone.

2. You follow the healthy guide lines, meaning you eat your daily portions of protein, veggies & fruits, milk, healthy oils and drink your water.

The only thing may arrise is that even though eating those extra 35 points are encouraged, some people do not loose as fast by consuming all the weekly points allowed. Each person is different.

One more hint... if you are going to eat them, I would eat them early in the week so you would have time to burn them off before your weekly WI. The danger would be that by burning those extra 35 points, you will not have any buffer for the enexpected hungrier-than-normal days or the un-planned dinner out.

My suggestion is to eat only One for your 16 points and save your spare flex points for later. You could enjoy your favorite snack 2 times each week! What a treat that would be.

My philosophy is that weight loss and it's maintenance (even if you don't have much to lose) is generally a long-term, even life-long endeavor. You will make mistakes, tweak your program, and ultimately find out what works best for you. How? By trial and error. If you want to try something and see how it works, do it. If it doesn't work, try something else.

Will you want to use your flex points every week on blizzards? Maybe, maybe not. But I think it's important to conquer the fear of "what if's"
Try it and see what happens. Make sure that you pay attention to what else you're doing too, though. If you use your flex points on blizzards, but then also have extremely salty foods or start PMS'ing you might have a water weight gain that has nothing to do with the blizzards.

I agree with everything poseted above. However i do duggest that you try every week to minimise how much you have. Like instead of having the full point 16 points every week make it smaller. One week have 16 the next maybe 14 and so on till you can still enjoy a have a small amount.

As long as you follow the 8 Healthy Guidelines (and that can be accomplished with only daily points even at the minimum number) you can use if you so choose your activity points and weekly points however you so desire.
