Default Food In The Badlands

I am heading out in a week for a trip out in the Badlands of South Dakota (photoshoot) and I need some ideas of food I can take with me to eat that will;1) keep my fiber intake high(I have diverticultis sometimes so no seeds or nuts - including fruit seeds, tomotoes, etc) 2) require no refridgeration or much preparation because we will be eating from the car 3)keep me energetic because I will be going up and down hills for 8 hours a day - oh, and keep my caloric intake limited to say 1700 calories a day. We will be going back to town in the evening so we can eat in a little restaurant then. Last year was a problem and I got terrible constipation (sorry), which I cannot afford to have anymore. I appreciate any ideas!!

I don't know much about diverticulitis..and I hope this helps even though it is mostly fruits and veggies LOL.

Dried fruit is good. Craisins are yummy and so are dried pineapple chunks. I'm pretty happy with the all-bran bars and the clif bars with peanut butter. They're high fiber and you can get them nut-free. Whole foods has those hand made high fiber crackers that are yummy - and maybe you could expense them because they are OUTRAGEOUSLY high priced. Can't think of the name. I'd go to Whole Foods and find a clerk and tell them what you need. Those people really know food.
