Red face An introduction :)

Hello everyone, I'm Andrea. I've been here before but under a different name, I believe, and not for a long time. SO... I'm ready to try again. I have no idea what my current weight is. lol. I believe it's over 300 lbs, and possibly well over. Not too sure... A decent scale is pretty high on my priority list right now. I've been through this inital stage before with (obviously) not much change occuring before I lost interest... or focus. I don't have a plan right now, other than eat healthy and exercise. (Exercise should probably be capialized) I have 2 young children and I want to be an active, healthy Mommy more than anything in the world. I think my 3 yr old girl, Fiona, is beginning to notice that Mommy is much, much bigger than the other kids' mommies. This is a horrific realization for me.
I'm so ready to make this change in lifestyle... but I'm not sure what my approach is as far as diet goes. I'm going to do some browsing, maybe get an idea of what has worked for others at this weight. I'm recently (but happily) divorced, started going to school full-time last year, and wanting to live my life to the fullest and make every single day count. I'm ready to be healthy.
So... that's me. I'm happy to be here and anxious to delve back into this journey. Looking forward to chatting with all of you....

Peace,
Andrea

andrea and princess kitty!!

This is a great place for support and inspiration! Please feel free to join us on the weekly numbered threads-- the conversation goes quickly, but it's a great community.

Also check out the stickies at the top of the forum -- we have a very active exercise group -- we count up the minutes we exercise and are trying to reach 200,000 minutes this year. I think we're going to make it, but we need everyone's help -- isn't that awesome?

Andrea and Princess Kitty!

What has worked for me is calorie counting, because I needed something that would technically allow me to eat anything as long as I accounted for it. I track my calories online using an equivalent of fitday.com. I know there are a bunch of people here doing weight watchers. The most important thing about choosing a plan is to find something that is comfortable for you and that you could see yourself doing for a very long time.
