Question How much are you paying for milk?

I just came from the grocery store and I am still in shock. Last week milk was $3.89 a gallon...today it was $4.19. What is going on? I just wanted to see what everyone else is paying.

What???????????????? $4.19 a gallon????????????

I echo your question, what the heck is going on???

I didn't buy milk today, but the other day it was $3.89 a gallon. Can you believe that a gallon of milk costs more than a gallon of gas?

I usually buy the half gallons, they're on sale more often than the whole gallons.

$4.69 for a gallon of name brand skim milk at a small, usually more expensive store - my eyes nearly popped out of my head! still that was less than the cost of driving another 15 miles round trip out of my way to get milk at a bigger grocery store. i do believe milk prices are going up. usually i pay about $3.50-3.80, i think, for the bigger store's generic brand.

Wow, and I thought ours was high. Don't buy gallons, but 1/2 gallons of 1% were $2.40 last week. I try to get there when they're discounting them because it's on or near the pull date. I put it in the freezer, and it keeps fine.

Given that I'm lactose intolerant I drink soy milk. But my sister uses dry milk to save money. According to her, no one in the house has complained.

I also drink soymilk...so really not expecting it to jump in price.

When I have kids they will either drink soymilk or dry milk mixed with water. I'm not going to pay those kind of outrageous prices for milk. Our economoy is really milking us here.

$2.40 for a half gallon is a lot, in my opinion. If our half gallons are more than $1.99, I'll just go ahead and buy the gallon. Sometimes it's a little cheaper. Because 2 half gallons will equal out to over $4 and if I can get a gallon for $3.89, that makes more sense to me. But sometimes they'll have the half gallons on sale for like 3 for $5 and that kind of thing.
