Default Saturday goal

My goal for the end of the week (Saturday) is 162. I have been on a plateau for a few days, though, and I don't think I'm going to make my goal. But I'll be close!!

I am at 165 right now, but I bet it will jump lower once I get off of this plateau.

S/C/G: Lost 50 lbs, regained some

Hey shr1ng1ngme,

That's how it works for me, too. Plateau then drop. Just stay on your plan--really strictly--and you WILL drop. Maybe not by Saturday, but you WILL. Hang in there!

Your weight fluctuates throughout the week... so I don't consider a few days of not losing weight a "plateau."

You're expecting a big drop for the next 4 days, maybe you should re-asess your goals? Healthy fat loss is only 1-2 lbs per week! It's just a bummer to be disappointed because you expected a large loss and didn't get it.

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck.

Default CRON diet

"Healthy" fat loss is 1-2 pounds a week, unless you are on a CRON diet: Calorie Restriction Optimal Nutrition. Essentially you make sure you get plenty of water, 27g of fiber plus 60g of protein (the correct amounts for my gender, age, weight & body type), plus correct DV's of all vitamins and minerals, while keeping your caloric level extremely low. The result is similar to what one might experience on a medical liquid fast: rapid weight loss without loss of muscle or bone mass.

The plan is to ease back into a more normal caloric intake as I approach the goal, so that I don't just gain it all back. The weight loss starts off very fast, faster even than most diets, then the loss slows down as the goal gets closer, until it levels off. Sometimes it dips below the goal and dietary adjustments and weight training are necessary to keep the weight up.

I am back on track now and I expect to reach my goal after all. I think I had too much sodium one day and I retained excess water as a result.
