Default Thin4Life - Week of July 9 07

Hi, everyone. I am soooo busy. I can't believe it. So many people were out last week, so of course I couldn't get too much done.

It is HOT here90's and high humidity. I'm staying inside.

I'm stressing out about my play. It opens this Friday and the guy playing my husband does not know his lines. I hope by Friday that he somehow learns them.

How is everyone else?

For some reason this didn't post before so we'll try again....

It's hot and humid here too! It's 89 and it's only 11:30 and the heat takes your breath away. Yesterday wasn't much better and tomorrow it's supposed to be just as hot! We haven't had any rain since June 19th! The grass is now yellow and it doesn't look like we're going to get any in the near future.

It's kind of quiet here in the office which is kind of unusual for an "orientation Monday" but I'm not complaining!

Had a good weekend--DH, DS #2, and I went to the Greek festival and we had a nice time. I had a beer, part of a cheese dish, and a few small things but nothing major. I did enjoy a few beverages later in the day so I'm sure that's not going to help my weight loss efforts!

I'm finally starting to feel a bit better--the weird "buzzed" sensation is not as predominant as it has been and I'm actually waking up BEFORE my alarm goes off! I'm hoping that the new dosage is the result I did get my copy of the lab results and my TSH had jumped from 2.46 to 2.83 so that tells me that the dose that I had been on was doing its job.

No walking outside in this weather! Tomorrow I'm supposed to have lunch with one of my former orientation coordinators.

Hi ladies,

It's hot here too, 95 today and should stay in the 90's through Wednesday! We've been getting a lot of rain though, so the grass is nice and green and the flowers look terrific.

Lisa what play are you in? Yikes I hope he learns his lines by Friday or you may need to do some improvising .

Melissa The Greek fest sounds like fun. I remember when I went to Greece a few years ago drinking orange juice and oozo....Yuck! Glad you're feeling better.

We didn't really do much at all this weekend...it was just too hot out. I've got a business trip to Boston planned for Thursday and I think after it's done I'll try to visit with DS. Work has been very busy, can't wait until my assistant gets back from vacation tomorrow! Have a good one ladies, talk to you tomorrow!

It was still humid this mornng when I came into work. I couldn't sleep so I was here at the office at 7:30. It's cloudy and we had a little bit of rain but so far nothing to write home about. I'm heading to my meeting at noon and have no idea what to expect--my TOM is due next week but then that could change.

I'll post more this afternoon.

It's cold here - 14 degrees (58F) when I came in to work this morning. The fog is so heavy I can't see the other side of the harbour. Sigh...everyone is in a snit because of the weather, but I don't want what you all are reporting either. About 10 degrees warmer (Celsius) would suit me just fine.

The one thing these temps are good for is running. Paddling...a different story. My friend and I were going to go to a dragon boat practice tonight but I'm shivering just thinking about it. Think I'll do errands instead.

I had a quiet weekend. Took the kids to see Ratatouille on Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, I stayed pretty close to home.

Our Tall Ships festival starts tomorrow. Sure hope the weather changes or there won't be much point.

Gee Susan that's cold for this time of year. We got a bit of a cool down today, I think its 85. Yesterday it came close to 100 and was very humid. How did you like Ratatouille? I want to go with lauren this weekend to see it. We tried going this past weekend but the lines were incredible!

Melissa hope you had a nice weigh in. I had trouble sleeping the past 2 nights Hope things improve tonight.

Same old same old here. I'll be back a little later.

Rehearsals for "Night Watch" have gotten better. The main male character has started remembering some of his lines, but it's difficult because I have to remember his lines and my lines so that I can keep the play moving. The hardest part is that if he forgets to say something that only he would know about, I can't mention it.

It is extremely warm here, not 100, but in the 90s. Susan, send that cool stuff down here. That really is cold for you. The Tall Ships festival sounds great. Yes, tell us about Ratatouille. I would like to see it, too.

Pam, Sorry about the not sleeping (welcome to my world.) Actually with the play and getting home so late, I've been sleeping better.

Melissa, how was the WI? DH went for his and the center changed their hours and we didn't know it. He was a little miffed.

Good morning! It's a beautiful 68 degrees here! It's a nice break from the heat & humidity we've been experiencing. Unfortunately though we just got a tiny bit of rain.

My WI was not good and I was upset--I was up 2.2# which brings me to 146! I haven't been this high in ages! I know TOM is due next week and I'm hoping that part of the gain is from that and the humidity/heat because my rings have been pretty tight. My goal this week is to plan better and make sure I hit the 8 guidelines. If I do that I won't have room for "extras" which can derail me.

I am feeling a little better than I did, although getting out and walking is still a bit of a struggle because I get tired. I really hope that the feeling goes away soon!

We're heading into our last summer orientation program this weekend which is hard to believe. I'm looking forward to my vacation which starts on the 20th.

So how's everyone else doing?

Melissa: Sorry about the gain, but it's nice to hear you're feeling better. Who knows, it (the gain) might be related to meds?? Anyway, you are always focused and you will get back to where you want to be.

Lisa: I had to chuckle about the play situation and you having to remind your 'husband' of his lines. Art imitating life?? Something in your post really hit home - about getting better sleep because you're getting to bed later. I really think that is a big part of my problem - I just go to bed too early. I will test that out when I go on vacation in a few weeks.

Pam: Ratatouille was really cute. It is fairly sophisticated, so much so that I wondered how much of it the kids actually understood. They seemed to enjoy it, but I'm certain it was on a different level. (They are 7 and 4). There were times when I got a little squeamish - scenes of hundreds of rats invading the kitchen, etc. It's hard to shake the aversion to rats that starts early in life... especially when no one is singing Ben, the two of us need look no more....

What a difference a day makes. The fog is gone, the sun is shining, and 30 Tall Ships are bobbing up and down in the harbour. Yeahhhhh.

Melissa, I too am sorry about the gain. Could it be the meds?

Susan, I'm glad your weather cleared up. Ratatouille sounds interesting.
