Default Fiber freaks--you probably already have found these

But I found some super-high-fiber tortillas!

Calories in 8" MULTI GRAIN
Low in Carbs Tortillas (8'' and 10'')

Manufactured by Tumaro's

Serving Size 1 tortilla (39.0 g)

Amount Per Serving
Calories 100Calories from Fat 22
% Daily Value*
Total Fat 2.5g4%
Sodium 115mg5%
Total Carbohydrates 13.0g 4%
Dietary Fiber 8.0g 32%
Sugars 1.0g
Protein 7.0g

Vitamin A 0% • Vitamin C 0%
Calcium 10% • Iron 6%

* Based on a 2000 calorie diet

I believe that high fiber is the key to weight loss, so I try to have 8 grams at every meal, at least. One tortilla takes care of that for me!

Hi there,

I am a huge believe in fiber too, and I usually get anywhere between 35-55 grams a day. These sound great, as the wraps I'm currently eating have 4 grams (I think). Where do you buy these?

Thanks!

I get them in the Mexican section of Kroger.

Wherever you live, there is probably a Kroger-owned store there. Out West it is Highlander, and I forget who they own in the Southeast. Anyway, they are pretty common.

La Tortilla makes wraps that are even higher - CRAZY high fiber.

their 100 calorie "large" size (big enough for a giant wrap sandwich) has 12 g of fiber! The smaller 50 calorie size has 8 grams.

Sounds like something I need to check out, as I don't ever eat bread. Luckily, I'm just not a bread kind of person. The kind of wraps I usually eat are Buena Vida Low Carb - they are pretty good but not a lot of fiber -- 70 calories, 4 grams fat, 7 carbs, 3 grams of fiber.

I also like the Trader Joe low carb wraps. Speaking of Trader Joe's and high fiber foods, one of my favorites lately is their bran muffins -- they are quite small but filling for a snack or light breakfast. I buy the cranberry apple, which are less expensive than the pomegranate apple. They are only 80 calories and a whopping 13 grams of fiber! An excellent way to up your fiber.

Thanks girls... I'll check out these other wraps.

I'm rather excited: I found the La Tortilla wraps in one of the lesser grocery stores in my area yesterday! Hooray! The wraps I've been using are smaller, higher in calories and lower in fiber. I'm stoked to have found the fiber-monster ones To celebrate, I will be having a curried shrimp and pineapple salsa wrap for my lunch today. Yum!

Sneaky b*stards! I just tried to input the nutritional data of those La Tortilla wraps into Nutridiary, and Nutridiary pointed out that the calories on the package don't comply with the 9/4/4 rule. They've subtracted the fiber calories!!! Jerks. Anyway, one of those large La Tortilla wraps has 136 calories, not 80 calories as listed on the package. They're still a bit higher in fiber than my other wraps, but they are higher in calories. I really don't think they should be allowed to advertise their product as containing 80 calories when it really contains 136...

<grumble, grumble>
