Default Hump Day Beach Blab - June 27

Good morning and please set up a coffee IV for me today. I did not sleep well last night and am having a hard time cranking it up this morning.

On the agenda today, after my 7:30 workout , is picking up schoolwork from two schools, shot #2 at 12:30, pet Therapy at the Clinic until 2, more schoolwork pickup and then home late afternoon. Some friends asked me to go to Ottawa with them for the RCMP Musical Ride but I don't think I can face 3-4 hours in a car after driving around all day. The Musical Ride is just stunning but I'll be too wiped. I may catch it later this year.

Anyhow, if I'm not around much today, you'll know I'm in Ruthie Roadrunner mode.

What's happening on your stretch of sand today? Be cool!

Default Humpday Wednesday Chick Chat

Everyone up, up, UP! Coffee's on!

We have a heat advisory on for today, so if I want to do anything outside, I'd better get it done early. The only thing I plan to do is water the plants, and the girls and I are invited to a friend's pool for the afternoon. Sounds like a good plan for the day. One good thing about this heat is that salads look very appealing.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated in this weather.

Morning Ruthie, thanks for starting us up this morning. I just crawled out of bed, and after reading your post I am more tired than I was when I got up. I am tired this morning too. Must be the weather. The RCMP muscial ride would be lovely but all that driving would put me to sleep, which reminds me I need to pack my gravol, I am not a good traveller. I still get car sick at 39. Enjoy your day.

My plans for the day are couple loads of laundry, keeping the kids filled with activity, and getting my own girls to start packing cause there is only 3 more sleeps til Vacation.

Off to make a pot of tea, I shall return. I have to do my computer stuff early cause once my girls get out of bed then I never see the computer.

Beat me to it again, Ruth! Hope you're feeling a bit more peppy once you fuel up with coffee! How's Lucy today?

Morning, L.C.! I suffer from carsickness, too, but as long I'm in the front seat, I'm ok. Try some ginger, it helps.

Cottage, thanks for the reminder re water. I must load up the car for the day with bottles and freezer packs. Lucy was not keen on breakfast but seems to have recovered her usual spunk.

Little Chick, the Musical Ride is going to be in the Maritimes this summer. Maybe you can get a chance to see it. Here's the schedule.

Gotta dash - "See yez all later:!

Ruth: Roadrunner ..yes you are! Never a dull day with the Delta Queen!

LC: 3 more sleeps! Bet you got a list of things to get done before Holiday!!!!!!

Cottage: a day pool side sounds loverly!
ok so good news... Darbydoo had her stomach staples out..she healed up right as rain...

good news ...DH who should give seminars on negotiations suggested I attempt to wrangle another 5,000 more out of my annual salary... and they agreed... I start the week of July 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This morn I'm off to get a Passport... Never been anywhere that required one..but now even to go to Canada or the Carribean you need one... then this afternoon I will try to make it to the tailors to have pants hemmed and sleeves taken up... I wish they had a "Weeble " department

Bad news: I was bitten bitten bitten bitten by a bloody Lyme carryin TICK! I ripped him off my gut... and spied 4 bites, with rash... rash got worse... I go to doctor.. doctor takes blood...and puts me on Doxycilin or something like that there... Doctor calls... positive for lymes!

good news..we caught it quick and now we will irradicate those blimey lymies with antibiotics...

Ok gotta wake up and get on with the day!

Good Morning Everyone!
Busy day here. Need to finish some work, then have son at physical therapy for 8:30, hit the grocery while he's there, then rush back and finish cleaning my house. My Mother in Law is coming for a week long visit. My BIL and SIL are bringing her.
Of course, something had to go wrong..I was blow drying one of the dogs last night and the electricity blew on one side of the house...all of the wall sockets are now not working in all of the bedrooms. We tried flipping the breaker etc, but it looks like we are going to have to try to get an electrician. That may not be easy to do. Since katrina, anyone in the building trades are very hard to get for a "small" job...they are all busy redoing other homes and buildings. Keeping my fingers crossed! I'm just happy it didn't blow in the kitchen or in my study..I at least have the fridge and computer!

Hi all! Happy Wednesday to you!

I just finished a new Tae Bo DVD. I was less than impressed with it. My good ones are packed in our storage unit in California and of course they're not on the shelves any more, so I picked up the Celebrity Fit Cardio and, while it got me sweating, afterwards I didn't really feel like I did much of anything. I remember being really sore with the other ones. Isn't that the hallmark of a good workout? I should be super sore, right?! Anyway, felt good to do *some*thing instead of sitting on my laurels all day.

Ruth, hope the running around goes well. I didn't sleep too much last night either. Had Avery screaming in my ear every hour or so. Perhaps you could hear her?

Cottage, hope you don't melt in the heat! It's getting humid here. Had to put on the A/C for the first time today. Ick.

LC, hope your girls pack well. I remember my priorities in packing weren't always on track with my parents' when I was a youngun!

Schatzi, gads! Hope you get that Lyme's kicked on it's rear real soon! That's a scare. Feel better!!!

Cat, I'm sending *come, electrician, come* vibes for you (no funny smiley for that one!). Hope you get someone out quick!

Off to shower. Have a great Wednesday!!!

Well hello to all ye Beachy gals just getting up! It's afternoon here, Just finished my afternoon caffine jolt. Taking a break from some computer work I should be doing. It's a beautiful day here in rural India, a cool breeze is blowing through the trees, my wind chime getting a work out. There have been a few light showers, but no elephant rains today, whew!

My parrot is trying to get my attention by going through her whole verbal repetoire..."Whatcha doing?" "Hi" "Give me a kiss" "No,a big kiss!" " SMOOOTCH" "I'm a good little green bird" "Whatcha doing green bird?" "Hellllooo" It's very funny...ok... bird bonding time... then back to my computer work.
Have a great beachy day all!

Your bird sounds hilarious, Kitty! We were once camping on the northern California coast and there was a couple who had brought their Macaw with them. I never imagined I would see a parrot camping!

Wednesday already! Good morning everyone.
I am happy today just to be able to stay out of the damn car. I resolve to work hard and get a lot done. I'll try to squeeze in some housework too, and general catching up on laundry, etc. It's forecast to be beastly hot today, so I've got all the windows open, fans going, to try and cool the house down this morning. I find that if I do that early, then close shades against the sun, the house stays pretty comfortable. Today will be a challenge though, it doesn't actually feel that cool out there right now. I think I'll knock off around 4:00 and take the kids to the pool. DH should be arriving in Dubai this morning. DD is showering to go back to work early after working very late last night. They are working her like a dog, but I actually think that's a good thing. We all had crappy hard jobs as teenagers, didn't we? It's a good skill to know how to work hard. My mom is taking youngest DD to volunteer at the nursing home with her. So, should be a quiet day around here.

Hello to Kitty and her bird, how do you bond with a bird, if you don't mind my asking?
Kara, sounds like you get in some good exercise every day - you're a good example!
Good luck at the dentist Nessa!
Femme, I got a good visual and a giggle at you blow drying your dog!
Schatzi, please pass those grounds over here! DH usually makes me a cup in the morning, but guess I need to get back in the habit of making my own. Glad you caught the Lyme's early.
Oh, cottage, I see you made the coffee, you angel! Thanks for the water reminder.
Safe running to you, Ruth, glad it's not me.
Chick, have fun with your girls.

You all are such early birds, I'm ashamed!
