Candice - you are using the Whipper, right, to whip the eggwhites? Mine does it really fast. I love that machine, and it sounds to me like you have been putting it to good use. Haven't even thought of baking yet. Just did my Christmas Cakes a while back.
Mima - Sounds like it is going strong. Good for you, I truly hope you are enjoying yourself. It is nice to have a companion to go out with and enjoy yourself.
Joanne - I could use you around my house. A seamstress! Geez, I don't even own a sewing machine. My mom used to sew all the time, and I grew up having tons of cloths, but I never enjoyed this sewing business. I hate crafts of all kinds. I was more into sports, and would do anything to get outside. I hated being stuck indoors.
Ally, glad you got some snow, maybe you can get into the Christmas spirit.
Happy..I used the wire whip but am wondring if the beaters are set to the right height(they say they are adjusted in the factory and may need readjusting. Can you measure yours and tell me exactly how far from the bottom of the bowl?????
Mima...Love decorated cookies but I don't like to do it cause I am too paticular! If my hands worked better I might try again....
Meme..what fancy lables you have!
Joanne, I thought maybe that was the case..didn't know if you were joking or not????
Did you think I'd died? My computer locked up on me in the middle of a post on Saturday night so I got mad and went to bed! I was so busy yesterday and today I didn't even have it on! Was about to go into withdrawal! You all have been busy little bees...took me forever to read all those posts! Now I've forgotten what all you said!
Happy... do you like your new place? Did you have enough room for all your stuff? What about pets...don't you have a cat or something?
Candice...so you liked my label...gotta tell you a funny story! I got this picture card in the mail...opened it...looked and looked at it...hubby looked over my shoulder and said, who's that? I said, beats the heck out of me...then I recognized your dog!!!
Hey Ally...who're you making the warped hats for?
Mima...Maxine has a point about the underware and blankets...but going one step further... also put a coffee cup on the end table, some dirty dishes in the sink, a pair of shoes where you're sure to trip over them, popcorn down in the chair, crumbs on the kitchen counter and towels in the bathroom floor...then smear a little dirt on the bathroom soap and the hand towel and you should about have it right! Be less work to get a dog!
Joanne...I used to make all my clothes, too. I also made all my daughter's and some of my son and hubby's suits and pants. I sewed some for other people for a little while but then I started getting the fibro in my neck and shoulders so bad I had to quit. The Dr. ordered me to stop sewing, painting, playing guitar, accordian and piano, sweeping, vacuuming and getting groceries out of the trunk. I obeyed except for the piano...told him that wasn't going to happen!
Guess what? I've lost 15 pounds on WW so far and so has hubby! He came into my bathroom with no belt on last night and jumped up and down a couple of times and his pants fell down!
Good morning-you guys are too funny-I can see all that coming-definitely-however, it didn't bother me with my husband-even the snoring-but it used to drive me nuts when he would go into his cave-the den-and not come out. He was a wonderful person but not much of a communicator. But that is too funny. My brain is elsewhere-Brad and I went to a singles meeting and played footsies under the table. Then when we left-I forgot my pocketbook-thank God someone dropped it off-and he went the wrong way to go home. No one in the group knows we got together but they might Friday night when we have the meeting.
Happy-can you send pictures of your new place?
Joanne-I only got everything done because i ahve to go to work tomorrow and then next week but I wish I still had my baking to do because it is more fun right before Christmas.
Hi Meme-I'm having trouble with the battery on my laptop-it depletes in 15 minutes and charges in 15 minutes. It's only8 months old and I hardly ever use just the battery. Gonna write the company.
Yeah Ally-who are the funny hats for?
Hi domestic Candice. sounds like fun to use your new machine.
Meme-awesome weight loss!Congrats.
Mima
Where are you guys. I'll check later . i have to go to Northampton this pm and I'm not bringing my computer for 2 days of work. Brad prayed for my safe trip with me. What's not to love with a guy like that. Computer company said they were going to send me a battery-darn thing costs 200. Mima
Happy- You hit the mark! Men are just all alike.. It seems that we are always picking up after them. And the wonder bra!! I wonder where it all went . I guess when you lose weight you find out where 25 persent was.
Candice I fixed the lights with a paper clip! That won't melt in the moisture.
Memi- Footsies huh... No wonder you forgot your pocketbook! You had a one tract mind.. I still have a lot to do before Christmas.. I never seem to get done. Maybe ,I am just slowing down.
Meme- I finally had a Dr, to tell me if I didn't get away from the sewing machine so much I would not be able to get out of a chair. That's what pushed me back into nursing. And the money. Good for you and your hubby on your weight losses. I have not been walking as I used to and I am afraid of a gain. I walk one day and can't the next. I wonder how much good that injection to my knee did. I have a feeling this time the Dr. advice was just to save money for the insurance .I guess I should tell him I am a nurse and not really stupid.
Hello Ally ,How are your days going?
Got lots to do, Bye all...Joanne
I'm afraid a lot of doctors think their patients (esp. women) are stupid!!! I've told a few that I'm a lot smarter than I look!
Bad news...my family Dr. has been ordering the gold meds. from a pharmaceutical co. that is on my ins. PPO plan. Well...when he went to order it last week they called him back and told him that they have stopped making solgonol...I'm devastated! I called the Rheumatologist and he said he didn't know that. They sent the last bottle they had, I picked it up today. That will last me almost 4 months. I have to go back to Nashville in Feb. so he said we'd decide what to do then...he said he might have me try the solgonol pills for a while and see if they would work as well. Before I started getting the gold injections, I couldn't even raise my arms above my head...I don't want to go back to that condition!!!
I went to PT this morning, then walked, paid bills and Christmas shopped...just got home 45 minutes ago and now gotta run and pick up Ross from school...run, run, run...that's all I do!
Meme - I am running right beside you. I can't remember when I have been as busy as I have been this week. Moved in a week ago, and have not had a spare minute. Have gotten the house cleaned up and it looks almost brand new again. Possession date is Friday, 14Dec., so my work there is done. On Friday, I had a physical and was to busy to go get the blood work done. Did that yesterday morning at 9:15 a.m. Was out of there by 10:00 a.m. and didn't get home until 2:30 p.m. Did some grocery shopping and Christmas shopping. I think I am now finished the latter. Now, I will just have to wrap it, but there is plenty of time for that. I found my cards, so that will be my tonight job - then I will throw them in the mail tomorrow and that will be done. I am running out of steam very quickly. Baked a couple batches of muffins this afternoon, so that should keep hubby happy.
Mima - Footsies? That is fun. Good for you - you are enjoying yourself and that is so very nice.
Joanne - Does you knee still hurt? What about if you didn't walk for 3 or 4 days and then started slowly each day. Would that help?
Ally - Hi. How are you. Still waiting to hear what you are knitting hats for? Did the snow go away again? Ours is here to stay. At least we are going to have a white Christmas - not a rarity around here that is for sure.
Candice - The Whip on the Kitchenaid Mixmaster on my machine is just about touching the bottom of the bowl. I can't get anything between it and the bowl. I hope you like yours and much as I like mine. I wouldn't want to be without it.
I am getting lots of exercise and I don't even have to leave home. We have an attached heated garage that enters on the main level, as well as the main door. Then you come up a flight of stairs, and the rest of the living space is there. This is fine, as long as my knee holds up - so far so good. Two bedrooms, two full baths, nice large kitchen with pantry, laundy/storage room, dining room and a large living room. Has in floor heating, which is very, very nice, a fireplace, and a fresh air exchanger. No air conditioner, but then we really don't need one for the few really hot days in the summer. Anyway, I go up and down those stairs regularily as part of my exercise regime. When I move to the new condo, there is an elevator and I will be on the third floor (top). Anyway, this place is nice and comfortable and because it is new, it is so nice and clean.
Meme - I wanted to congratulate you on your wonderful weight loss. Way to go, girl! I know I have lost some weight as well, as my pants are getting baggy. That is from all the stairs. Yesterday I must have climbed them at least a dozen times,
bringing the groceries and stuff up.
I think I overdid the running yesterday, because just around lunch I was in Walmart and my hip and back started to hurt like crazy. I guess I need to go see my friendly chiro.
Happy ..For the past 5+ years I have been walking a average of 21-25 miles a week. For the past month I doubt I have walked 10 miles, even with my shopping. First my knee and then my stomach pain from the meds, that I stopped, and now again with my knee. I walked day before yesterday and was unable to hardly move the next. I am going to try and get through Christmas and then if it is still giving me a problem the Dr. will have to do something else. I am glad you are getting settled. It sounds like it is only temporary though, for you.
Meme- I have found that The male Dr. is sometimes less senitive to female patients than the female Dr. But I had to take what I could get at the time I had to choose a Dr.That great deal when they offer with group insurance. He is a good Dr. I think like many his hands are tied by ins. companies.

I think we are all running at this time of the year. I still have one more gift to find. Wrap them all and then shop for Christmas Day dinner. Make pies and cookies. and God only knows what else can be found for me to do. I for one will be glad when Jan. 1 gets here. Bye all...Joanne
If I were old Santa, you know what I'd do
I'd dump silly gifts that are given to you
And deliver some things just inside your front door
Things you have lost, but treasured before.
I'd give you back all your maidenly vigor,
and to go along with it, a neat tiny figure.
Then restore the old color that once graced your hair
before rinses and bleaches took residence there.
I'd bring back the shape with which you were gifted
so things now suspended need not be uplifted.
I'd draw in your tummy and smooth down your back
Till you'd be a dream in those tight fitting slacks.
I'd remove all your wrinkles and leave only one chin
So you wouldn't spend hours rubbing grease on your skin
You'd never have flashes or queer dizzy spells
and you wouldn't hear noises like ringing of bells.
No sore aching feet and no corns on your toes
no searching for spectacles when they're right on your nose.
Not a shot would you take in your arm, hip or fanny
from a doctor who thinks you're a nervous old granny.
You'd never have a headache, so no pills would you take.
and no heating pad needed since your muscles won't ache.
Yes, if I were Santa, you'd never look stupid
You'd be a cute little chick with the romance of a cupid.
I'd give a lift to your heart when those wolves start to whistle
and the joys of your heart would be light as a thistle.
But alas! I'm not Santa. I'm simply just me
the matronest of matrons you ever did see.
I wish I could tell you all the symptoms I've got
But I'm due at my doctor's for an estrogen shot.
Even though we've grown older this wish is sincere
Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year
Well, as of today, I am no longer a property owner. The house now is out of my hands and I can stop running back and forth.
I finished my Christmas shopping, got my cards done and was busier than a one armed paper hanger today. Next week, I will wrap everything and be done. We are going out for dinner on Sunday, to the Danish Canadian Club. We are going with good friends, so it will be nice. Of course, we have to drive 100 miles each way to do this It was certainly dull and a bit snowy here today, but warm 40 above.
I hope you are not rushed off your feet. Ally, where are you. Hi Candice, Meme, Joanne and Mima. This is a pretty slow board the past few days.
I was out of town for 2 days and didn't bring my laptop but I will next week. Met Brad at Christian Singles last night after a 2 hour drive home in the dark and the pouring rain. The service was beautiful and people now know we are going together. The leader gets very happy when people get together but wishes it would happen to her. Brad's last dating fling was there. It was funny. Now I am going to be super busy because I have to work all next week. And I can't do things at home because I'm not there at night. I really do have most stuff done though because I knew this. We did learn something new this week and it was pretty easy. Gotta keep that brain going. Hi everyone. Meme-they surely will make something else to replace the shots . Be good everyone. Mima Meme-the joke about the married couple was hysterical. I forwarded it to my older friends. Thanks
