Default hello all

i am a 42 year old american woman living in stafford england.. i weigh 290 pounds ( 20.10 stone i think lol). im hypoglycemic, so the whole dieting things is really hard for me cause if i let my blood sugar get too low, i pass out, which isnt nice.. been tryin to keep the cals at about 1500 eating lil bits thruout the day..been exersizing like a feind.. have a friend comin from america to visit, so have been giving the house a good going over as well as painting etc.. painting really burns the cals ... have done three rooms so far this week lol..
i am looking to loose 100 pounds.. started dieting ( lifestyle change) a week and a half ago, and have lost 6 pounds so far, so i guess im doin okay.. dont wanna lose it too fast and end up with lots of hanging skin..
I look forward to getting to know some people on this board, and really feel like it will help us all to have someone to talk to that is in the same boat..
good luck everyone with all your goals

living in stafford, staffs ... in america i lived omg.. everywhere lol.. born in los angeles... lived in san fransisco, las vegas, augusta georgia, aiken south carolina, san diego cali, and medford oregon.. moved here from medford..
it was a bit of a culture shock at first.. the main prob i had was understanding the accents and the english slang... made a complete rear of myself a couple times cause things that mean one thing in america mean something totally diff here... the worst was the fact that i met my husband on a game called everquest about 5 years ago.. in the pubs here peeps would ask me where i met him and i would say 'on the game'.. didnt know i was tellin peeps i was a hooker lmao... the second one that got me into trouble was the word fanny.. in america its a butt... and a polite way to say butt, so i use it all the time... had no idea what it meant here, and got very red faced to say the least when i found out lol... thank god i have a sense of humor lol...
look forward to getting to know you all better...

OMG! Bless you but that is hilarious! I bet they were thinking - wow those American women!!!!! I rmember my ex boss - German but had lived inthe states and mentioned 'Fanny' a few times. I put him right and he was very glad of that! Mind you - my mum did not realise either and she was always saying she would slap my fanny! Mind you she also would say she would slap my puss -thank god she has not said it for a while!

I had to laugh at my brother - he is a teach and has to deal with what was sex education in my young days. He had to discuss with pupils all the words used for certain 'parts' and he mentioned that in his son's school (my 9 year old nephew) they call 'balls' 'chicken fillets'! It brought the house down, that did!

Did you move here to be with your (now) hubby?

hello again.. been a while i know, but have had company from america, and been busy as heck.. hope everyone has been doin well.. i havnt gained any weight since i have had company, but i havnt lost any either today i started back on my regimen i.e drinkin loads of water, and eating about 1700 cals... the weight calculator thing i went on said that for my height and weight i should eat about 2300 cals to lose weight and about 2500 to maintain.. i never eat that much, so i dont think that would work too well.. 1500-1800 sounds good to me.. what do you guys think??
hardest part food wise, is because im american i know what to buy for low cal snacks etc in america.. but you dont have low cal cool whip and jello here lol.. any suggestions for yummy real low cal snacks i can get in UK?? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. my sweet tooth will thank you)
well, take care all.. good luck on your goals.. will check in again tomoz)
