Just wondering. Between my work hours and my centers hours the best time for me to weigh in is 1:30 PM. I try to eat a normal breakfast, have a snack at 10:00 AM and then refuse to eat or drink anything until after weigh in. Anyone else to this kind of thing to try and "beat" the scale or am I just weird Would love to hear that I'm not alone!
I have to drive 105 miles to get to my center so I head out early in the morning because I refuse to eat anything, and only allow myself a little bit of water or coffee. I am not a morning person at all, but I make myself get up earlier to go before class so that I can eat before I go learn.
On the other hand, I only weigh one time per week. I don't get on my home scale at all because I would go nuts stressing out over a tiny gain from day to day.
You're absolutely not alone on this one, Kim. I WI at home now, but when I did go to the COD, I would not have anything at all until lunch time when I would weigh in...and minimal water.
BTW...I just love your avatar...that is a really neat picture!!!
I have no choice but to weigh in after work. COD opens at 9, I'm at work at 5, obviously I've eaten breakfast and a snack by 9 am.
Otherwise I try not to eat 90 minutes before weigh in, but weigh in at the same time every week. Years ago when I was on WW, the leader came right out and said that as long as you're weighing in at a consistent time with consistent circumstances the scale will be consistent. That's how I look at it. I alwasy weigh in about 2 hours after lunch on a Tuesday, thus the scale will be consistent from week to week.
I moved my WI to the morning, and just arrive late for work on those days. I don't eat first, nothing to drink, and I ALWAYS pee when I get to the COD...lol.
i usually WI first thing in the morning...unless i have circumstances where i have to WI at night. i never eat or drink anything til after i WI, i usually go in the morning (between 9am-11am) and always wear the same clothes. and i usually try to go to the bathroom (#2..sorry if TMI) before i go too.
Does anyone know approx. how many lbs. can be added by weighing in the eveining? I am a teacher....enough said. I usually leave for work at 7...then leave work at 4:30 to hit the gym so I weigh in at about 6ish. Which is really late! This also causes a problem with me for dinner....always eat so late. Maybe I will post on the meal thread for ideas for "quick" carry-with-you dinner meals.
Dutchess - I don't know for sure but when I have had to go after work rather than before it can be up as much as 4 lbs from my morning at home weight (which is within a half lb of the center scale).
JD - I have to go after work myself as I start work at 6 in the morning and COD doesn't open until 9. I have found that my weight at WI will vary from 3 to 5 lbs from my morning at home weight and I have checked my scale at home after WI and it is right on with the scale at COD. So I have found that what I have to do is be consistent with the time I weigh in.
I bring a pair of little shorts in my purse, since I refuse to weigh in heavy pants. Also, I insist on peeing first. Of course, you may consider removing rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, earrings, shaving your legs, trimming your hair, plucking your eyebrows, and removing your nail polish, LOL.
LoL! I have moved my WI to the morning. My COD just says as long as it is consistent (wearing similar clothes, coming in after eating similar amounts, BMs etc). Last time I was there she said the difference can be up to 6lbs. Mostly around 3-4!
