I have only just lost 15lb and feel that now I could go down a dress size, I think it would vary for different people though, they say the average is a stone a dress size.

It changes as you get lighter. When I started this diet it took quite a few pounds to lose a dress size but the pounds were so much easier to lose - but nowadays I don't have to lose so many pounds to go down (or up) a dress size (about 10 pounds) but just losing an ounce is a major struggle.

Oh - just re-read your post - as for how LONG it would take to lose a dress size.... that would depend on how much care you take with your diet and how much exercise you do.

As Sarah said. Usually takes me about 6 months and about 1 stone to lose a dress size.

I've actually been in a phase where I lost about 40lbs in a two month time span, and back then, I was in a size 18 UK and got down to a size 12 uk. That was a diabetes thing though, and I rapidly gained all of that back after I got back on my insulin. I never felt so sickly in all my life when that happened.

I am pondering trying the Special K diet for two weeks to see if you really can lose an inch off your waist in that time span.

As for regular weight loss, however long it takes you to lose about a stone, that's a dress size. Because you have to lose inches all over your body to change dress sizes, that's the main issue with how long it takes. In my experience at least, you cant just lose an inch or two on your hips and then immediately hop down to the next dress size.

My goal is a dress size every two or three months. Right now I'm a 16 UK again, and still working to get the pounds off!

I think it depends how much weight you've got to lose i've lost 15lbs so far and havent dropped a dress size....my clothes just are more comfortable lol but thats possibly because ive got nearly 100lbs left to lose and i'm currently a uk 18-20
