I thought I loved this stuff bc it travels so well - you can literally roll it, pack it, and wear it. It requires no ironing or special care. It's a "suit" that a plus size or losing gal can wear comfortably and without binding. They come in lots of great styles and rich colors.

Then, i got a photo of myself wearing this at an event. OMGosh is all I can say. Apparently, comfort and lack of restrictiveness also means that everything pretty much just hangs out - every lump and bulge - despite good undergarments. I looked like I had gained 20 lbs from when I had on some form-fitting pants and a better structured knit top. Is this just me or are these things notorious? I'm thinking of sending that to the donation pile right now, even tho it's fairly new and still fits. ugh. or should I say "doh" for buying it?

PS - DOH! yes that's me wearing it in my avatar.......maybe I look like I gained 20 lbs in everything & not just this. Or maybe it only looks good on stick people.

I believe I saw the same stuff or something similar on sale at curves when i was going there (they used to have entrepreneurial types come in to flog their wares on occasion). I know that anything "slinky" is going to cling to every lump and bump I have, and it is not going to be pretty. Not sure if it is true for everyone. I am very self-conscious of every lump and bump and want clothes that are a bit more forgiving.

Same is also true of t-shirt fabric and although I like the length of a lot of the "Decent Exposures" stuff (i posted about them in a swimwear or underwear thread, I believe) I am scared to try it b/c it's all knit type fabrics too...

Now, if they make something that will travel well, survive being scrunched, not cling to lumps and bumps and BE COOL in the summer humidity - let me know!

I have several of these and I've found it really depends. I have one set that I loved until I saw myself in it full length. I gave it away. I have noticed that color and fit make a big difference. Light colors are horrendous. Medium colors are better, and deep or dark colors are pretty good. Sometimes a print helps, sometimes it makes it worse. Shiny tends to be much worse than matte. And those that have a medium to light stretch and a heavier feel to the fabric look much better than those that are light weight and/or are extremely stretchy.

I had one pants I wore to death, because they looked fantastic. They were a deep rich brown, a fairly heavy matte jersey/spandex with a good amount of stretch, but heavy enough to smooth and skim bumps instead of hug and cling. They were a wider leg without being a bell bottom. If I ever find a similar pair again, I will buy them in every color available.

The also felt like jammies and breathed fairly well. I think the fiber content was cotton/polyester/spandex. Sometimes the slinky knits are a little hot.
