Default weigh in question

ok, so i know that you're suppose to recreate the same environment and circumstances each time you weigh in, like same time of day, same clothes (or lack thereof), after going to the bathroom...etc (according to your prefrences.
now i usually weigh in on monday mornings...sometimes i work and have to get up at 5 or 6 am and i usually weigh myself then, but sometimes i don't work and i may sleep in until 10-11 (lazy, i know, lol) so i'm basically wondering if this is going to cause a higher reading...i wouldn't think so, but i wanted a second opinion/confirmation for my own peace of mind.

I actually find the later I sleep in, the less I weigh. I think it really depends on a number of factors though. You might try a test for yourself. If you get up early to go to the bathroom, weigh yourself, go back to sleep and weigh yourself again later.

The later I weigh in the morning, the less I weigh. I wake up at 6:00 sometimes, I weigh then after going to the bathroom. I sometimes will weigh again right before my shower, say at 8:30 or so, and my scale goes down sometimes up to a pound. In my exeperience, the later you weigh in, the lower the scale will read.

I've seen that trend too, that if I weigh later in the morning (but still before I have eaten) that I'm a little lower.

Sometimes we tend to get caught up on the minor details. The small changes between weighing in at 6:00 am and weighing in at 10:00 am really don't matter as much as long as we are seeing a downward trend overall. We can really drive ourselves crazy with this.

oh, i don't really drive myself crazy, i'm pretty easy going with the whole thing, but it just fascinates me. the whole drinking water to get rid of water weight and the fluctuations one has depending on the time of day just makes me wonder about things. i tend to over-analyze everything, i drive my bf crazy!

i always, always try and weigh myself under the same circumstances so that i can be sure the weight is not sabotaged by anything specially on weigh in days but sometimes when thats not possible, i wait until the next day when i can actually weigh in the right way lol. on weigh in days, i weigh myself in the morning after i go and use the restroom and before i eat or drink anything.

Great thread! I thought (ok, I know it is) my body was just weird. I get up at 4 every morning during the week and I sleep in until 5 on the weekends sometimes but no matter what time I get up, I always weigh less the later I wait to WI as long as I don't eat or drink anything.
