Default Staying focused on my health in times of crisis - and asking for your prayers

I have been on a good course this month. In a good place emotionally. Eating right and exercising. Loving life. And today I feel like I could care less if I ever lose another pound. I baked chocolate chip cookies and I want to eat Fritos. I feel like it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things if I am fat forever. I don't want to feel this way. I know that once this crisis passes, I will be so happy to have remained focused on my health. I have never experienced stress like this. I cannot sleep well and I'm not eating right. Can you wonderful folks here in the 100-club please encourage me to stay on course with my weight loss. Even if you haven't been through a crazy, stressful situation, any encouragement will help. Thanks.

If you are the praying type can you please pray? We have had a huge family crisis that started on Tuesday. One of my BIL's has taken my sisters 2 children from Washington to Hawaii. He told her he was taking them to Seattle for the day and instead boarded A PLANE to Maui. They have been together 10 years, married 2 years and separated for 1 year, but there hasn't ever been a legal separation or custody agreement drawn up. When my sister first went to the police, they told her there was no case since there was no custody agreement in place. Then she started getting emails and phone messages from him and showed them to the police. The detective was very alarmed by these bizaare emails and they traced his cell phone records to Maui. My BIL is sick and this comes through in his emails. The police told H that she could file charges of kidnapping. She decided to do this even though D told her that if she did he would run and she would never see them again. The Prosecuting Attorney denied Hannah's request to press charges yesterday afteroon and said that BIL is well within his parental rights and that this isn't legally a kidnapping - even though he says that he is taking the children to Thailand and that she will never see them again. This is just so hard for me to understand. Our hearts are broken. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Her DS is 6 and DS is 4. It is so frustrating. We feel like my sister does not have ANY legal rights to her children since there was no custody agreement in place???? While D has 100% of the rights to them and to take them away from their mother who they have always lived with? He isn't a nice person. Not a good father and is just doing this to hurt H. She is filing for divorce first thing Monday morning and going to work on emergency custody. Thanks in advance for your prayers for my sister and her children. I know how I am feeling and she is hurting so much more.

Oh my. I just can't even imagine... Stress hardly seems like a strong enough word. You can bet your last dollar that I will be praying.

On another note... You are not the best help for your family if you do not take care of yourself! Maybe I'm harsh, but eating stuff that is not on your plan is not gonna help this situation 1 bit. You'll just feel guilty or disappointed (or fill in the blank) later. And still upset and worried for your nephews and sister. You're right, it doesn't matter if you're fat forever, but it does matter that you are healthy and live a long life!

I totally get the stress/emotional eating. Really. But it won't help you for me to give you a "pass" to eat whatever you want.

Be strong. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry your family is going through this. I know it's hard to stay focused on weight loss and health in times like this, but you can do it. Just come here and talk to us and we'll support you as much as we can.

Wow! My heart goes out to you and your family! I will definately keep you in lifted up with prayer. I'll also include your healthy eating! I so understand the need for hot choc chip cookies in a crisis situation! While they might give you some instant gratification, you will feel worse later! I hope you continue to eat wisely and keep your strength up!

We're here if you need us!

Default So sorry about your family situation!

Dear Nori,

I have already begun praying for your family. Monday is a long time away! I can't imagine how you all are dealing with this!

Can the detective locate the children? How about the FBI? Could you have the news stations get involved? Can you contact the newspapers both in your state and in Hawaii?

Be sure to keep copies of all phone records and e-mails in a safe place. You may need them later.

Can you seek help from a different attorney?

Don't be patient! Stay on this, and if you aren't getting answers, KEEP ASKING!

Please let us know what happens. In the meanwhile tell yourself that eating healthy will help you be your best self that will provide you the strength to get through this (with added power of prayer, of course!)

Cheryl

My prayers are with you and your family. When you are terrified, frustrated, upset, please don't eat -- we all know it makes us feel worse and more out of control. When you feel like eating, call your sister, go on line and do some research, anything to keep you busy and to help out. God bless you family in this difficult time and I hope and pray the kids are home safe soon.

Nori, I am so terribly sorry! I agree with Cheryl; keep hammering away to get answers! If this guy is not right in the head, then do everything within your power to keep pressing for answers.

In regards to your plan, stress can play such havoc on our bodies, so it is twice as important now to be as healthy as possible! In order to support your sister, you have to be well and if you aren't careful, stress can bring on many ailments. Stay the course, Nori!

I'll be praying for you and your family.

Nori,

I have begun praying now and will continue to pray until the children come home to their mother. If you don't mind, I will also ask my extended family to pray.

I believe there are organizations that help parents with these kinds of situations. Have you looked online? I will begin researching to see if I can find anything for you. Please keep in touch with us and let us know if there is anything you need.

I am so sorry that this has happened to you, don't give up... We are here for you and definitely keeping you in our prayers.

No matter what you are told - don't take "No, there is nothing that can be done for an answer." - if you rattle enough cages and like someone suggested - get a news agency involved someone is going to do something for you. If nothing else - just to not look like the bad guy. Maybe - you could take the email to one of the newstation - they may just post it on the news and ask the police why they are not doing anything.

Please let us know how you and your family are doing.
