Default Hello...I'm new

Hi! I am new to the web site, and looking for inspiration and tips as I try my hand at once again trying to lose weight. I have two young children, a full time job (plus the "extra" time that goes with it), and a husband who works crazy hours. I know that I am a binge eater in the late afternoon, who otherwise eats OK for the most part. The biggest thing I need to do is exercise. I live in the country, and cannot stand to send my kids somewhere to be watched while I go work out somewhere, so that has been an issue. I am also in charge of the household duties since my husband is self employed. It has been a struggle. I do have a good friend who has lost a lot of weight, but it is not realistic for me to do it the way she has (fad diets, not eating with her kids, putting them in the gym child care while she works out-she lives in the city-, etc.). I know it will not be an easy or quick road, but I know I need to do it.

Hi Lauren!

Welcome!

You sound like you have a lot on your plate! You sound a lot like me a number of years ago! I was shocked to discover a few years ago that I was eating (binge!) to de-stress! That's no reason to eat when you aren't even hungry! Now I have a nice cup of tea or drink some water or write in my journal.

You may have success going to your local library and checking out some exercise videos. You can do them right in your own house, and there are some fun ones for kids, too, that you AND your kids can do TOGETHER! I like doing dance ones, too!

YES! Stay away from fad diets and quick-fix schemes! They don't LAST!!!

You may want to check out Fitday. It's free and helped me lose 15 pounds by tracking my calories and exercise. Here's the site address: www.Fitday.com
