Default Monday's Chick Chat

Good Morning! It's going to be a beautiful early spring day here, today!

In case you're wondering where Ruth has been, she's taking a short sabbatical while she's having computer problems. She hopes to be back in here very soon, maybe with a new computer!

I just got back from Curves where I did a strenuous workout this morning to work off the "carb fest" I had over the weekend. I was doing just fine until my mother showed up with a sour cherry pie. My favorite!!! So I'll be doing a lot of chugging and glugging today, for sure.

The coffee just finished perking and is smelling good, who wants to join me for a cup?

Good monrning -

It is supposed to be near 70* here today. Granted, back to the 40's by Wednesday, but I'll take a springy day when it comes!

Yesterday did lots of shopping at the outlets with my friend. We are both certain our husbands will never let us out of the house together again as we both spent more than we planned! But, it did make me feel more positive about SB after last week's confusion/doubt (posted over the weekend) and copious amounts of cheating. It was nice to buy clothes that fit and to feel good being in the fitting room and how things fit - something that had not happened in a while.

I have excercised, had breafast (and coffee) and will soon be off to my last rough day of interviews and then the rest of the week is quieter and then we choose next years staff and the process is over for awhile. Friday three of my workers and my boss leave for a conference so it will be much quieter with them gone to Florida for six days!!

Happy Monday!
Ally

Good Morning Chicks....pass that coffee over here, please
I had a pretty productive weekend, but I feel like it only lasted a few hours . We got a lot done - including meals pretty much cooked for the week! It's the first time I've tried doing a whole week. I hope it works out better and makes our evenings a lot less stressful. Poor DS (18mo) had a really rough weekend with lots of tumbles and bumps and topped it off with a fall down the stairs last night. Bad Mommy forgot to shut the door! I don't know how far he fell down - his little shoe was on the 5th stair up, so at least that far. He cried for about 5 minutes, had a little bit of a bloody nose and then seemed fine. Ate dinner great, played like normal. I didn't sleep hardly at all though b/c I wanted to keep awake to hear him over the monitor so I'm veeerrrryyy tired today. I'm so grateful that he's okay.

Well, that's about it. I have a lot of work waiting to get done this morning (that darn work fairy didn't come in and magically clear off my desk over the weekend - she's been slacking!).

Hope everyone has a good day!

~Kelly

Good morning!

That sounds much chipper than I really am, hah. I'm NOT a morning person and haven't had my coffee yet.

But the good news is that I managed to lose 2.3 pounds on my first week of P2. I'm off to have my oatmeal and I think I'll add a berry smoothie to my menu this week.

Cottage, I'm so impressed that you've already been up and gone to Curves already!

Kelly, glad to hear your little boy is OK after his tumble. I'm sure I gave my mother several frights with my clumsiness over the years!

I hope everyone has a great OP day!

Not sure how to handle today...I'm sick..wonder if it is the flu (doesn't feel like the carb withdrawal, as I have the scratchy throat cough, etc...). I am totally not hungry...everything that anybody mentions makes me want to hurl. But, I'm at work (yeah, their policy isn't exactly "Sick person friendly" and hate that if I'm contagious, I could spread it all over, but that doesn't seem to phase them a bit...just BE THERE, ya know?). My mother had bypass surgery earlier this year (January), so I missed about 3 days total for that (she lives with me and I'm her care-giver), so I am SURE I'll hear about this if I go home. But I hurt and feel crummy. Usually, I'd have something sweet when I feel badly (always helps me), but of course, I cannot. Any suggestions?

Morning all!

I've been busy prepping for my surgery on Friday. YIKES! LOL. But I know that I can continue this way of eating! So far, I've lost 5 pounds. I REFUSE to gain that back. Although, I am secretly looking forward to lounging around for a while. I am sure by day 3 I will be sick of it and yearning to get out of the apartment. And I hope I don't drive DW batty!

Coffee sounds great on thsi end everyone!

Wow, Schatzi, you're darn perky! Love that! Hope you can find a place to live that suits you. Hear you on the choices. What's all the reading for?

Thanks for filling us in about Ruth, Cottage. Hope she gets a new 'puter so she doesn't have to deal with all that mess. It can be so frustrating!

Have to get the puppy to the vet to get her anal glands checked...and then make some dinner and take out the trash. Hopefully tonight I can sit and relax with DH...we had a busy, busy, busy weekend and need it! :

Have a great day, chickies and stay warm!
