Changing the definition of a day
Why, why, why didn't I do this before? For months I've been hearing some people say they do better if they count their points from dinner to dinner, rather from morning wake-up to morning wake-up. Finally decided to try this myself recently, and it has been a godsend.
Nighttime snacking's my downfall, so starting my points day at 6 p.m. helps keep me from overdoing it in the evening...I don't want to find myself short of points for the next day! If I do use a lot of points at night and find myself having to watch my tally the next afternoon, I know I'm not going to starve to death--a new day starts at dinnertime. And, on the days when I don't feel like eating much and have to force-feed myself to get to minimum points, I feel better if I'm doing it in the afternoon while I still have a few hours to burn those calories, rather than packing in those points right before I go to bed.
Every way I slice it, this way works for me. I love it.
