Unhappy Upset Tummy

I feel like I could get sick, but fortunately am not. I have the stomach bug, though, that's for sure. I've had part of a slimfast and a handful of croûtons...and that's it for today. We have chicken broth...I'm new to the vegetarian thing. Is the broth okay? (I'm not in it for the protection of animals, just health) Think some black tea would help?

If you don't mind if it's made from chickens but are just doing it for health, I'd try to find a fat free chicken broth. Hopefully low sodium, too, since it can pack a shocking amount of sodium.

I'm sorry you don't feel well, hopefully it will pass quickly

Unhappy Yeah

Yeah it's fat free and low sodium. The brand is...something-er-other House. Maybe in a while when I'm feeling up to it, I'll drink some. I think the tea made it worse.

If you are doing it for the health, I'm not sure which part of the animal you are referring to, lol, but chicken broth is just boiled chickens. So it's essentially a chicken. So I don't really understand your question.

If you are asking if it is ok for a vegetarian to have chicken broth, then yeah, but you won't be a vegetarian because it is boiled flesh. But if you are asking if it risks things like salmonella and food poisoning like from poorly handled meat, you probably don't have nearly as much risk involved as you would actual meat.

Is that what you are looking for?

Actually I was just curious if it was considered meat or not. I'm doing vegetarianism for health reasons, and since it was the only thing we had that I could eat (to my knowledge...don't know what else I'd be able to eat that's veggie), I went ahead and drank the broth. Fortunately my ailment only lasted 1 day.

I'll have to grab some. I'm thinking of going to the store for Oolong tea tonight...I may just need to add that to my collection.

A vegetarian doesn't eat ANY animal products in any form...this include fish/seafood, poultry, and meat. If you're just doing it for health reasons, it's not really important that you call yourself a vegetarian. Actually if you're eating any animal products (like chicken broth), it's prefered that you don't call yourself a vegetarian...it just confuses people, and then genuine vegetarians end up being served animal products by their friends who innocently think chicken broth is vegetarian, bc someone who was eating it called themselves a vegetarian. Does that make sense? Not slamming you...just telling you what happens when people misuse the vegetarian label. I had someone tell me she was a vegetarian and then she ate a BLT!!! Huh??? Hope you are feeling better soon!

When you are all better, and if you don't mind cooking, you could try making your own veggie broth to freeze in containers. I think I got my recipe from the "Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes Cookbook." I use it as a base when I make my homemade soups.

You get all the same hormones and other crap from chicken broth as you do from eating chicken meat.

And no, chicken broth is not vegetarian. lol, neither is gelatin or lard.

sorry you're sick, get well soon

Oh god that's the truth. And because of stuff like this, I rarely eat other peoples cooking even if it is rude

If you have to say anything just say you prefer not to eat meat often

Chicken broth is basically essence of chicken All the chicken boiled down.
I have always found a little plain rice is best for settling an upset tummy.

Hope you feel better soon.

Te best thing in the workd for stomache aches is called Baby's Bliss Gripewater, or any form of gripewater. It was used in Europe for hundreds of years and just recently came to the US. I am a cronic "belly acher" according to my husband and this stuff totally works. If I am not feeling well within 5 minutes of taking it my tummy feels better. Most often it is used for Baby with Gas or stomache pain so you may need to go on their website to find a store that carries it. Good Luck...

I just started the LA Weight Loss program and I had the worst stomach ache and headache yesterday. I didnt have any of this stuff to take.

Is this normal when you start out of this 3 day cleanse?

Tylenol was not even working on my headache.
