Wink Hi Everyone, I'm new here....

Hi Everyone,
I am 30 years old, 31 next month, and I have been fat my whole adult life. I now weigh about 195 lbs., I say "about" becuase my scale is old and inaccurate (time for a new one, I guess). Anyway, I have been the same ole me for years, always afraid of change. I have recently went through a transition in my life. I don't really know what inspired it, but I lost my glasses and started wearing my contacts, started wearing makeup, got introduced to a new genre of music that I never really listened to before, and found I really liked it alot, and I cut off all my long hair. All these things made me feel better about myself, becuase I feel like I'm finding a different side of me that I didn't know before. Becuase of the haircut, Ive been getting alot more positive attention, and that feels good. But there is one thing about myself that I just cannot change overnight, thats those 60 or 70 lbs I need to lose.

I just joined 3FC 2 days ago. I started my diet a week ago, low carb, and walking about a mile everyday. My feet and legs hurt like ****, especially since I waitress all moring long, and walk for 30 min to an hour every afternoon. I am getting a little frustrated that I do not see my scale moving down yet. It doesn't seem to want to budge. I eat alot of skinless chicken, cooked in different ways, some beef and pork, but mostly chicken, and vegetables, fresh and cooked. I have cut out the sodas, and drink mostly unsweet tea or water w/ lemon (I cannot drink plain water...yuk). The only day I let myself cheat on my diet was on Valentines day, I ate 2 brownies and some ice cream, then felt very guilty afterward. Shame on me . But I started back dieting the next day .

Anyway, is it normal not to see any movement in the scale within the first week? Did I really mess myself up badly with those brownies and ice cream?
Any suggestions in low carb dieting would be helpful...

Aside from Valentines day, I really do feel motivated, and I feel like I can do it this time. My family doesn't really support me, and I guess I came here looking for that support that I lack here. Anyway, I was really hoping to get my questions answered and maybe someone can tell me some successes thay have had with low carb dieting.... Someone can maybe give me a little incintive to keep on going, or maybe offer some better suggestions.

Thanks in advance..

First off welcome....as for did you "mess" yourself up...no. not at all. it is normal to not loose the first week. But what i would recommend is to figure out what you are eating and log it too make sure you are not eating too much. There are several great websites to help...for example fitday.com is a great place to find out if you are eating "too much calories" and there are several websites to figure out what your calories intake should be in order to loose. But give it time. Doesn't happen overnight.

PS....that font you chose is very hard to read...would hilghy recommend not using it again. I almost gave up reading your post it was so difficult to see.

Good luck and welcome

better thank you

to get the ticker/scale thingy at the bottom, go to your private message screen. There you will see "edit profile" Click on that. Then when there, towards the top, you will see a "mock" scale and it will say something like...to get examples or somthing like that...click here...click and there are many to choose from. Good luck...it isn't that hard to do...very easy step by step things
