Default Morning, Chickies!

Rainy but mild here this morning. No wet paws to deal with however! I've still not adjusted to not having Hershey.

Spent most of yesterday tiddling up files for the Audit last night. Passed with flying colours as I expected. It sure helps to be very organized and documented in that situation - the Auditors get a mental mindset! I wish my house was as tidy and organized as my books!

This morning I am off to do the stress test on the treadmill! I may croak after less than ten minutes because I am in absolutely rotten physical shape! My Doc and I have decided that I need a "little something" to get the weight coming off and are looking at Meridia. However, this drug can affect blood pressure and can also give you heart problems - hence the stress test before I try it. My sister has just been diagnosed with a heart condition so we are taking no chances. I think this may be the longest ten minutes of my life!

Whoops! 7:50 and I need to shower before I leave at 8:15 - see you later - if I live!

Morning ladies,

Hope all is well and no one is too cold or wet. We had a monster storm go through last night. Lots of damaging winds and tornado watches and warnings. We did ok, no tree damage, but our street name sign was blown down. I love watching storms from the safety of my warm home. There are a lot of power outages and several area schools are closed, luckily our school is open. Our area has underground electricity which is nice for appearance, plus it is not effected by the wind.

Ruthie best of luck on the tread mill, you will do fine.

Hensa thanks for the nice picture.

Leens, glad the little one is doing ok with her shots. I am glad we are past all the early shots. Boys hated them. Dh could not go, because needles make him ill, he gets a pasty look and weak in the knees.

Scooby, we have that rumor of snow flurries coming for this afternoon!

Hey Pooky and Linda, where are you?

Default Snow?!

Yes, it has been snowing all morning! Just tiny flakes. Oy vey! We're having high winds-60 miles per hour and it's miserable out there! I hate the thought of anyone having to be outside in that wind.
Next month I go in for a stress test too, Ruth. Only it will be done with medicines as me and a treatmill....well, just imagine a fat woman using a cane on a treadmill! ROFLMAO!!
I have to make a stronger effort to drink that water I just plain forget!
Today I get on the stationary bike for a bit. I'm alternating using the Adboer and the bike every day and slowly building up my endurance. Don't be concerned...I'm using my common sense.
See you all later and God bless!

Psst, Zookeeper...quit lurking and say hello!

Tip....use a straw when drinking your water, it makes it go down faster and before you know it you've sucked up the entire glass ROFLMFAO. To bad milk shakes couldn't be just as good for you as water...........nummmmy.

Finished boiling bottles, made the eggplant parm now I'm heading off to see Mom.

They are calling for snow here on Saturday.......can you imagine, Snow in October in New Jersey LOL....Good maybe the cold will kill some of these germs floating around. Everyone has colds around here.

Have a great day ladies.

Love, Leens

Default Used Body For Sale!

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I flunked the frassing treadmill test! Could only do 3 minutes which was not enough to test the heart. The doc says "Lose weight and walk 3/4 hour a day" and you'll be fine. That advice seems vaguely familiar - skinny little twerp! So......no magic drug for me, I guess. I am really going to have to get with the exercise bit as I did not realize I was in such lousy shape!

OK - end of whine.

Hey, Tip and other mid-Westerners - keep the snow. We are having major winds right now - the drive home was bad. I felt I was going to be blown off the road and into the lake. Sure stripped the rest of the leaves off the trees. 50 mile per hour winds will do that. Wish it'd strip the blubber off my butt.

Gotta do fly-lady this afternoon. Can't stand it any longer.

Hello everyone, I have been EXTREMELY ill for the last 4 days or so and I have been barely able to move. I got the flu/cold and it has been taking it's toll on me. I have lost 6 pounds in 4 days because I have barely felt like eating and I sleep constantly. Don't worry I am getting better although slowly. I would say I was at 65-70 percent today.

Also, I had major internet issues, turns out that for the last few months my modem had been burning out and the cable company didn't tell me! They FINALLY came out today and replaced it as it was a completely faulty modem to begin with. My dh just screamed at them to get thier a$$es out here and do something--he sure was PO'd.

Miree is at my grandmother's because there was no way I could run around after her. Dh took good care of me and made me my meals and told me to sleep--isn't he an ?

Hope to talk to you all soon--going to take yet another nap now....

Hi everybody. TRying to catch up on everyone's doings.

Ruth I've never taken one of those treadmill tests but I'm sure I'd flunk too. Even though I vowed I was going to keep up my walking after my return from Scotland, I've actually only gone out twice. It has been pouring rain or horribly windy every other day (well almost every other day. Other times I've been sidetracked). Now that I've been diagnosed with high blood pressure, it's even more important for me to get in shape. How about we keep tabs on each other's walking progress? Tomorrow morning I do the pool, but on Saturday I'm going to walk for 30 minutes rain, shine or snow (EEK! Who mentioned SNOW?) By the way, I just read in the paper that some smart company is now selling metal-free bras at airports (replaced the underwire with something else). Something to keep in mind the next time you fly. Not sure if that metal bra of yours could pass inspection.
Pooky so sorry you were ill. My older daughter had something like that. It knocked her right off the planet for a couple of days. Then she went back to work too early and had a relapse so you take care. Don't try to do too much.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you don't get the snow. We've been having major monsoons...not cold, just darned WET. We also had a couple of days of high winds which blew over a few trellises in my garden and knocked out the power for an hour or two. I'm thoroughly sick of this rotten weather and want to see some sunshine for a change.
Today I had to bring in my satellite access card to have it reprogrammed. Looks like something wrong with the system again. It's a major hassle to reconnect the big tv in the family room to cable without someone to hold the darned thing up while I struggle to attach the cable. Why don't the manufacturers (ALL MEN I BET) make the cable connections in the front or at least the side where people can see them. You get a huge tv in a wall unit and there are a gazzillion cords and wires in the back to stereos and vcrs, etc, and it's a nightmare to change anything back there. So, to save myself a headache (with DH out of town) I went and bought myself a little tv for the guest bedroom where I do my crafts and hooked it up to the cable outlet in there. I had an old (25 years) 20 inch tv in there but it was really on its last legs. No matter what channel I pressed it always went back to channel 8 immediately. Now I can watch the hockey games without interrupting his blood and guts thrillers or wrestling.
Tomorrow morning is my WW weigh-in. I've been REALLY REALLY good all week so I sure hope to see some results. Even though my doctor was pleased with my 18 pound loss since June, I'd sure like to see the pounds melt away a little faster. Heck, glaciers melt faster than my fat!
