Unhappy Lost my va va voom

Just when everything was going so well. I have totally wrecked this week - complete self sabotage, no excuses. I don't know why i did it although at the back of my mind was "you're going to Italy at the weekend so you'll blow a week then anyway". Maybe so, but why did I waste this week?

I was so positive at the beginning of last month but now I don't see how I'm going to change. It just feels like I'm never going to dredge up the willpower to sort this out for once and for all.

How do you get back on track when you've fallen so spectacularly off the wagon? I could really use some suggestions as I can feel myself waning. Thanks.

Just get back on the wagon or rather your eating plan.....don't have to do it spectacularly....it's interesting how our binging can be so spectacularly bad and sudden while losing the weight is slow, unsteady, and frustrating. But binges are for yesterday and today is a new day....pretend it didn't happen so that you're not dwelling on, and just move forward, babystep after babystep. I know we get frustrated by our lapses of judgement, but remember, whatever the reason for your eating... might be chemical, emotional, whatever.....every small step you take forward is a step towards sanity and good health. Its a tall mountain to climb, but you can do it. If not today, tomorrow. Each ledge you reach may be slippery, but eventually you'll get to the top. Just keep your goal in mind. Put plenty of affirmations around, pictures of where you want to be. Chain the refrigerator, the cabinet, rid your house of junk food, throw away the scale and smile...even if you have to paste the smile on. Absorbing new habits is tough work, and it's reasonable to back slide. Just don't be too hard on yourself.

This happens to me all the time, especially when it's those last few pounds, then you think what's the point... And the negative talk inside your head takes over. I find that if I switch to positive talk it really helps. I remind myself that I am only human and that sometimes you fall off the wagon it's part of life. But then I remind myself why I'm trying to lose the weight and it's mostly because I deserve it and that I know I can do it if I just give myself some credit. You can do this, you already know you can, give yourself permission to fall once in awile and know that what makes a strong person is getting back up again!

Ahhh!!! No Doughnut! I love reading your posts, and look forward to seeing your name around in Featherweights! You can't fall off the wagon, I'm counting on you

Honestly though, you can get through this. I remember some of your other posts talking about how you're really doing it -- that's great. Remember how much you want this. I know you're going to Italy (that's so awesome, I'm jealous) but while you're there, keep in mind that you'll have to come back to reality sometime Don't feel bad about indulging there, though...just in monderation.

Tips: drink lots of waterrrrrr. if your mind wanders to food when you're bored throw on some music, or go for a short walk or do laundry or anything to keep you occupied. prepare/bring healthy snacks with you everywhere.

doughnut~we all fall down once in a while! Don't beat yourself up. Everyone here is rooting for you. Get back up, dust yourself off, and get back at it. You can do it, you know you can! Besides, it's just a week. Make a plan for today and stick to it and you'll feel so much better.

But seriously, we're here for you... So what if you go on a vacation, it doesn't have to be a total pig out , enjoy the sights, the smells, the people, talk to the natives, it's not just about food...... Just do what you can with what you have when you're in Italy (lucky you BTW) and we'll be here when you get back...

HAVE FUN!!!

Thanks guys. I'm about to go and finish packing but first off I'm going to change my ticker to what I actually weigh now plus a pound so that when I come back if I have to change it again it hopefully won't be by too much!

Some very good points you've made - I don't actually have to eat Italy to have a good time there and when I come back I'm gonna read this site loads before I weigh myself. I can do this .... Have a great week everyone - hope no-one's really struggling at the moment cos that sucks. Thanks again.

Doughnut - have a great time in Italy! I'm sure you'll be walking a lot and otherwise very active, and even though we often think of pasta, breads and wine when we think of Italy, you'll also be able to eat some terrific fresh vegetables and fruit! Just think about eating like all those gorgeous glamorous young Italian women! Bon voyage!
