Smile The place for me, newbie

Hi all, I was so happy to find this support group, those last few pounds are so hard to get off and can be really depressing and although I need a support group, I have found that losing 10 to 20 is different then losing 100.

A little about me, my name is Dana, I live in Montreal, Quebec. I have a three year old daughter and I am 33. I am finishing my last semester at school to become an Early Childhood Educator and I have a wonderful man.

I have been struggling with an extra 10lbs for most of my life, I go up and down and I am pretty sick of being up, I'm way up right now. After I gave birth I lost the 40lbs that I put on but my body has changed and I need to lost some more. I did get down once to 130, it was wonderful, but then I feel invinsible and starting eating like a pig. I am at 144 right now and pretty unhappy, I would like to be 125. I eat really well, and consider myself to be a bit of a health nut, I don't believe in diets but lifestyle changes. I do eat when I am bored and that can be the end of me. My problem is I don't exercise, I move around quite a bit but obviously not enough. My excuse is that I am a full time student and a fulltime mother, my partner works opposite shifts and I just don't have the time. (I can't motivate myself to workout at home). I took yoga in school and my teacher said something that hit me, she said "you will never find the time, you just have to fit it in". She's so right, I am signing up at a gym this weekend. I feel that I could really use some support to help me exercise and eat right and perhaps you ladies can me, as I hope I might offer support as well. I'm sure there are several like me who's closet has three different wardrobes with three different sizes.

How do I get one of those cool wieght counters? Nothing like seeing your progress.

Anyway, I'll stop before I bore you to death, looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Dana

Wow, you never really think of your name much until somebody says something like that. How cool, thanks for sharing that.

Thanks for the information about the ticker, I think I have figured it out.

Welcome!! Another Canadian I liked reading your story!

If you haven't seen it yet, there's an entire thread (it's sticky, so it's at the top of the page) on all our stories. You should post yours
