Default Bowflex and Weight Watchers??

Hello,

My husband and I bought a bowflex. I use it every other day. It comes with an eating and exersize plan. I am not going to do the eating plan because I do weight watchers and I like that. However, the exersize plan with the bowflex says to rest between days so your muscles can heal. I get it.
However, in WW I always thought that we should have some activity daily. In the bowflex plan, the question stated is "Why won't you allow me to do aerobic dancing on my off day?", the reasoning is that it can actually ****** the fat loss that is achieved with the bowflex.

Do you think I can just do some light or medium activity? Walking, yoga, the light or middle work outs on the WW dvd's?

Does anyone here have a bowflex or similar machine and do WW at the same time?

I remember giong to the Y and alternating days between weights and cardio, and I really didn't get results overly quickly.
My husband has seen results by just doing the bowflex every other day, but he also doesnt' have fat to lose.

I just want to do what would be the best for me in losing weight. it's tough because there are so many conflicting views.

thank you
og

What it means is don't strength train the same muscles or muscle groups 2 days in a row. You should rest them for 24 hours.

You can do cardio every day though.

For example here is my work out routine (on the advice of a HUMAN FACE-TO-FACE Fitness Trainer):

MORNINGS before work
Mon-Sat - cardio tape

AFTERNOONS at the gym after work
Mon & Thu - weights for my legs, calves, back and biceps
Tue & Fri - weights for my chest, shoulders, abs and triceps
Wed & Sat - cardio machine

Sundays are my day of complete rest.

You need cardio to burn fat and strength training to trim/tone muslces.

Bowflex is a strength training apparatus (I had one and sold it --- wasn't impressed).
