Default Question about points

If I marinate something and then cook it, do I count all the points for the marinade since I'm really not eating all the marinade?
For instance, last night I marinated 3 salmon steaks in tblsp each of soy sauce, maple syrup, and olive oil along with other herbs and spices that are 0 points each. Do i count 7 points for the 6 oz salmon and and 4 for the marinade?

If I use a marinade, I usually just count it as one point - or even zero depending on the marinade. But that's just me! I look forward to hearing other's responses.

Here is a tip my leader gave me many, many years ago:

if the marinade has no added oils or sugars the don't count any extra points. If it has added oils or sugars add 1 point per serving.
