Hi everyone, my name is Allyssa and I live in Texas. I am married and have 3 kids ages 16-13 & 3.5. I am a working mom and have come to a point where I am tired of gaining weight and not doing anything about it. I'm a comfort eater or just a habit eater, whatever you want to call it - it's me. I lost weight last year to get me to where I wanted to be and then things got hectic and here the weight came back before I realized. So I know I can do this...it's just sticking to it and doing it - I know one of the things that helped me before was the support and thats what I see here is an awesome amount of support. I want to lose about 30 pounds and what better time than the New Year. I am starting with a whole new outlook - I can deal with stress without eating everything in sight and I can start relaxing and have a little more time to make me happy. So here I am and I look forward to getting to know everyone.
I, too, live in Texas (DFW area) AND have four children, ages 14, 12, 9, and 3.5!! Sounds like we have alot in common! I lost about 68 pounds several years ago (prior to my last child), but started gaining some back. I joined this thread as I struggle to get the remaining 15 pounds or so off. Everyone is extremely supportive----
Thanks so much for the welcome!!! We really do have a lot in common!!! I know what you mean about the struggle to keep it off and I am so dissapointed with myself that I let it come back. I know that I can do this but having a support system is really helpful. It's not really something that you can share with your family as far as them understanding what it feels like when they have never had to deal with it. I look forward to getting to know you and everyone else here.
