  • Just letting you all know that I only made it thru 184.5 days. Yesterday, not only had I just started my period, cramping and my back was hurting, but alot of things were just finally getting to me. So the more I thought about it all, the madder I got. Then when DH was coming home from baseball practice with kids he said he was stopping at Sonic, did I want a burger? No, but how about some onion rings?

Well, I ate half a large order (think the whole thing is well over 500 cals), part of a burger, just two bites, then I ate some ice cream. Blah. I hate when I eat alone then when he comes home I want to eat when he does too. I need to be stronger and say no. He apologized for offering to get me something (I'd had all my cals.) Not his fault. Just gets so hard sometimes to not do what others do. Not eat out when everyone I know except you all here does!

So I'm really bummed but I know that it doesn't define me. I will still finish my year focused on this. I may have a day again where it's just all too much and I fall off the wagon. But I'll have other days where I'm white-knuckling it and manage to hold out. Either way, I'm still here! That's an accomplishment! Sad that so many are gone from the challenge.

Thanks for letting me ramble, hope to be back for personals soon.

    Hugs, Selina
PS Theresa and Rhonda. I'm sorry to let you down! I thought I could go a year. I see that I probably went as long as I could without one day off plan. It was a great effort! I had to go to bed really early many days in those 6 months to keep from munching bc I had had a baddddd day. Life goes on tho, right? Progress Not Perfection!!!!

Oh my goodness, girlfriend, you have absolutely not let anyone down! You've lost over 80 pounds and have had a ton of on-plan days! Me, I made it to day 10. I've decided to start counting on-plan days and see how long it takes me to get to 365 without starting over when I fall off plan. So far, I'm up to day 13. I figure that having more on-plan days than off-plan ones will make me successful at this weight loss journey....just like you have been.

So sorry you had a rough day. Those days always have a way of coming around again, huh?
  • Hey you know the veg meal we had the other night with our friends? Well apparently it put our friend into labor, because she gave birth to their son 12 hours later! I'm so happy. They said if the dinner I made put her into labor they'd name their son Heather. I don't really think that's true. It'd be kinda like "a boy named Sue" right?

Rhonda, that's great about your results! Always feels so good to have a back-of-your-mind worry alleviated, at least for awhile.
  • Just dropping by to say HI! And bye, lol!

Nothing going on...same old stuff, different day.

    Have a good one!
  • Thanks Anna and Rhonda. I'm kinda like what you said Rhonda. I can still go for a year. But I just figure that if I end up with 355 days of that year are good and 10 are bad then I'm still doing wayyyyyyy better than last year!!!!

    Hugs, try to bbl, Selina

OH NO, girl! Seriously, you have not let anyone down! I still really admire that you went as long as you did. I made it to day 8 and then had an off day...so think at all you have accomplished, it's huge! I started over but I have a three strikes you're out rule now...I have the basic 4 things to being OP, and a day falling short of one of those things is a strike...three strikes in one month and I fail. I feel all or nothing for a year is just so strict and harsh, so I feel more confident with the strike rule. You are human and we all have our off days, it's the overall combination of weeks and months that really brings progress esp. with all you have gone through, I seriously don't know how you made it that long.

  • My little tip of the day:

When you make dessert, make individual servings. I made pear crisp today, and if I had made an 8x8 dish, the servings would have been huge. Instead I made a little bowl for everyone, and the portions were reasonable. And tasty.
  • I like Rhonda and Theresa's modifications to the whole OP thing!! WTG girls!

Gosh Selina, you didn't let anyone down by slipping up for 1 day in almost 200! I'm along in being B.L.O.W.N. away that you could be OP for that many days too! I don't admire you 1 iota less because you ate some onion rings!

My 3 month anniversary of recommitment to good health is tomorrow! I'm down a little over 25 pounds. Mind you 7 of it was the first week, so it's been pretty slow and steady since then.

    Yeah for good mamograms!

    Yeah for new babies!

Had a good personal training session today. I must have done 200 various forms of pushups though. Ick though, it involved the weighing in in "public"! Numbers and fat % are down though so it's all good.

Well, I'm working on payroll and other month end stuff - so just a quick visit.
  • Kelly, Congratulations on being our Biggest Loser for last week!
  • Yeah, Kelly, I knew when you posted that loss early on this week that you'd be our biggest loser! Congrats!
  • Finally!
OMG! A week later and I've finally caught up with all of the posts. Man, you women can type. And, no I haven't forgotten about John. Is he still with us?

So, it's 2:00am here in California and I really should go to bed, but I'm afraid there'll be another 20 pages in the morning if I do.

Sorry fellow Bluesers, I only posted a 1lb loss this week. I'm OK with it since I know I didn't exercise the past two weeks (one down is better than one up any day), but I'm sorry I didn't help the team much. Been nervous about working out so I haven't been. Read on for why.
Question: Is anyone perimenopausal? I've always been irregular (sorry John ) and for the past 4 to 5 years, I've been in perimenopause. The last two weeks I've had weird aches and pains in my arms, back, chest and neck and everything I've read points to menopause, but with heart disease in the family, I felt a doctor's visit was in order. They drew blood for a multitude of tests so now I'm just a'waiting.

I've got time for just a few personals. Being so behind, some of these are probably long forgotten, but I've taking notes for a week (4 pages of 'em), and I didn't even write down everything!

Erin (scgirl): Jasper is adorable! I think my heart just melted at the sight of him. Does Franny enjoy the company?

Anna (tee): Where do you play Scrabble online? When I'm not playing poker, I'm playing Scrabble at Scrabulous. It's my favorite board game. If you're ever there, look for AChgoNatv and we can have a game or three. And that rabbit behind the TV that took out the power, was that a pet rabbit or one that wandered in from outside?

Dee (dixie): I like your avatar pic! Has anyone told you that you resemble Reba McIntyre? I work out to country music too (Dixie Chicks and Kathy Mattea are on my MP3 player now). I'm a relocated Chicagoan who loves country music. I'm so odd. And, speaking of odd...

Rhonda (girly): I just finished 'Odd Thomas' and 'Forever Odd' by Dean Koontz. I'll be checking 'Brother Odd' out from the library as soon as I finish Ashes to Ashes by Tami Hoag and 'T is for Trespass' by Sue Grafton. Except for a number of books that I will one day re-read and a few series by Anne MacCaffrey, Sara Paretsky and Nevada Barr, I've given up buying books. I discovered that moving with hundreds of pounds of books just isn't fun.
Belly dancing! When is your first class? Coin belts or hip scarves can be found fairly inexpensively on eBay, I think I got my 1st one for $10. There's a great online store called Moondance Belly Dance that has a great a selection for us girls.
By the way, how is the WW key lime pie? This is my favorite dessert, but the one I can only have if I plan my day really, really well, has a ton of sugar and too much saturated fat.

Chelle: Inquiring supervisor minds want to know...what is your job title that allows you so much free time at work to do TBL stuff? I either want your job or I want to know your secrets of looking like you're busy working.
Hope the strep throat is better.
How is Lexi? Are all of her problems cleared up?

Teresa (purple): I agree with you and the quotes from Poppy that you posted. I have made the decision to be healthier and I am changing every day. I'm just trying to eat healthier to avoid the familial heart disease trait. I'm losing weight by default. I guess you could say it's a side effect. Oh, did you skate at your DD b-day party?

QOTD (from way back on Feb 8): Do you feel like you had to sacrifice something to get where you are in your weight loss today? If so... what is it? Yes, I feel like I'm sacrificing convenience. I know in reality that I'm putting my health and myself first, but it feels like a sacrifice when I have to search for nutritional info online prior to going out for a work lunch or avoid a quick drive-through meal.

QOTD (from way back on Feb 20): What are you favorite planned treats? I've discovered Russell Stover's sugar-free chocolate line. I'm not a huge chocolate fan, so maybe that's why I like them. Other than that sugar-free popsicles or pudding or cool whip (with pecans or walnuts and cinnamon). Yum!

OK, it's 3:30am. Gotta hit the sack. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! and to everyone I didn't mention personally. I will be back to finish up.

  • Okay...so today is starting out as a great day. I weighed myself first thing this morning and I am back down to 193.0 lbs. I've been patiently waiting for TOM to arrive but so far he hasn't. I usually gain weight the week before TOM's arrival, so this loss means he should be here any second. Since changing my eating habits a few months ago, I am never hungry, but this week...OMG...I am starving. Even my trusty sweet potato isn't keeping me full. This is the first week in 5 months that I am really hungry and not feeling satisfied. I hope it has to do with my period, which I think it does. I haven't gone off plan, but I have been eating a small bowl of fiber one before bedtime and that seems to do the trick.

Does anyone watch the show "You are what you eat" on the BBC channel? I LOVE that show. I am going to try to make her Chickpea hamburgers next week and see how they taste....I'll let you know.

Have a great day Blue team.
  • Sonja--I do solitaire at scrabulous, but I play against people through facebook. How do I find you at scrabulous?
