I'm feeling better today.

So sad to hear about Doppler. I know he had good care even after you left.

Enjoy your atv ride. This time of the year is hard on young plants. My sister has several containers that she has planted. I may do the same.

I know your mouth has had to be sore but glad it's healing. And the biopsy sight as well. More purging for me too.
Annie
You are still a busy little beaver. You make me tired just reading about things you do.
Mel
Hope you don't have to go to the office at all. Just stay at home and relax.

Yum, the roast beef sounds good. Now that I'm feeling better think I'll do some cooking this week end.

I've made a big decision this past week end. I will be moving to live with my sister when I retire. At first I'll be in Branson then she wants to buy a duplex in Nixa, MO, where her son lives for when she completely retires. She and bil will live in one side me the other side. She's suggested that I put my stuff in storage until then. She's been thinking on this matter too.
This is where I need to be.
You can read about my week end in my blog.
It feels good to have this much time off, 11 days, to be exact. The life of Riley. But Thursday I'm putting a do not disturb sign on the door.

Gosh, wouldn't have expected a wildfire in your area with all that snow! The roast we bought was a top sirloin roast from the butcher. We had an ATK recipe in which it you butterfly it and spread an herb/oil/mustard mixture in the center, tie it off, let it sit for 1-24 hours before baking, and then spread on an herb/butter mix just before serving. Yum. Hope you have a good ATV ride IF the air quality permits.
Enjoy your long lunch today!
Although they do a good job of land management, trimming trees and thinning things in the woods. We are still in danger though - today there was a warning of very low humidity (20 percent) and gusty winds which increase the fire danger. I was wondering why it's so darn dry here when we have all these trees - while the deciduous ones are just budding now, we still have well over 50 percent pine trees up this way which feel like they might be giving some moisture off. As well as 10,000 lakes too. You are never more than a few miles from a lake no matter what direction you head into. So I looked it up. Apparently there are 5 main air currents that circulate the earth and make all our weather. The polar current is north and that's what gives us those frigid temps we blame our Canadian friends on. The tropical currents come from the south and are very wet, moist and hot. And then there are the Continental currents which drop all of their moisture over the mountains and by the time it travels east our way it's like a sponge squeezed of all it's water. There are 2 more currents which are a combinate of the other 3. We mostly get the Continental currents up this way which is why our air is so dry. In the winter we get a combo of the Polar current and Continental - both dry. Our only hope for moisture is when the jet stream dips south and pulls some tropical moisture up our way. We had a few clouds pass by overhead but the air is so dry now that the moisture got absorbed before it even fell to the ground. I admit moving here I never thought of wildfires - I fancied that to be a west coast California thing. Not sure what's worse - wildfires or tornadoes/cyclones - neither of which you can outrun.
It is not only wonderful but also a very VERY good thing that DS and GF are handy like Mum. DH is very handy - with electricals too - and we have been very fortunate. I know many women whose hubbies are dear ones but are all thumbs when it comes to the tools. They either learn to do it themselves or are subject to the occasional repairman if things are not left to fall apart on their own. So it will never be lost to be handy around the house. I had to smile at you comment about DS's measurements off a bit sometimes - a picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa came to mind

It only got as low as 46 last night but it sure did feel chilly when the sun set and night moved in. Yes, I know for some of you 46 is coat and boots weather
While we are struggling (and learning it by reading the manual) I often think of the execs who would not even think to figure it out. But that's why they have people like you to do it for them, right? I think you should record you voice mail as
I would have so much fun with that
Love the idea of chain sawing idiots on the road but the police probably would put a stop to that! Best idea ever was a comedienne long ago who was talking about traffic in California. Said that everyone would be armed with a dart gun with little flags on the dart that said IDIOT. As you're driving when you'd see cars that were doing stupid stuff, you shoot a dart on their back window. Cops can patrol and anyone with 3 darts automatically gets arrested
