  • CountingDown~ I so agree with you... I have been changing the way I eat and how much lately... I just needed that little kick start... Plus Im going home in a week and that means I have to see all my girlfriends from highschool... Im the cheerleader turned fat and I kinda wanted to not look SO bad before I went... I was hoping this would be the trick! Its not far from what I eat now... Fruit, VEGGIES, chicken, and soup... I eat all that almost everyday... Except for you eat more soup then normally... It taste really good too! But we shall see... It may be a learning lesson for me... I pray I dont gain the weight back... Thanks for the heads up though!
  • MELISSA...i totally understand the "kick start." this time around I had to do something drastic (medifast). once i get back on track and gain a little control, i can start a more realistic approach for lifetime living.

thanks for the warm welcome. i have recently made the committment to take the journey again. 2 babies in 3 years and i cannot believe how different my body and life are. there is a difference this time......I am bringing the Lord alone on the journey with me.
  • Romans~ You are so right... I keep having to remember that Im not in the fight alone. Im so glad you said that this morning because I really needed to hear that... All I can think about is how I just want some bread and butter! LOL Sounds silly but I LOVE BREAD AND BUTTER! So I need to go pray and read my daily bread so I can be strong! Thankyou so much
  • Rosebud~ You are right. I feel like when i play horseshoes im going to take someones head off. Cornhole is much better.

Romans~ Hello and Welcome! This is a great place for encouragement. I look forward to getting to know you.

Laurie~ I had a wonderful time with them! Sunday we spend the day at the quarry. It was very relaxing, yet tiring from all the swimming. Still pretty sticky here, but the heat has went down a little bit.

Karen~ Thanks for the video. Its always nice to start your day off with a laugh. Hope everything works out with the house selling.

Melissa~ Congrats on the loss so far. Sounds like you are doing great on your own. I would take caution on doing the cabbage soup diet. Im am aware what it is, but i have a problem with a diet that tells you only to eat fruit one day and only veggies the other day. Just make sure you are getting enough food when you do it and take a multi vitamin while doing it cause you cant get in al your vitamins on this. Good luck

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was awesome. Spent saturday night and all day sunday with the kids at the quarry. It cooled down a little bit so it was pretty much a perfect day to swim. I got a new bathing suit that i LOVE and am very comfortable in. This is very surprising. Also i had a NSV when shopping. I tried on a pair of shorts in one size and had to buy the ones 2 sizes smaller! I was pretty much thrilled. I sprained my ankle at the gym the other day. Didnt feel too good, but it will be fine in a few days. I have lots of previous injuries to this one ankle so it happens quite often. Happy Monday Everyone!
  • ok so I have been on the diet for only 2 days and I hate it... I feel horrible... I loved the soup yesterday but the thought of eatting it today made me almost throw up... I hardly ate anything today because i didnt want the soup... I ate carrot sicks mainly... Then had the bake potato for dinner... Which I was starving for... I will never do this diet again... Im afraid to finish it!
  • A quick post to say hello and prayers continuing.
Melissa - if the diet isn't working - ditch it. Life is too short and there are too many other plans that do work. You CAN do this. Keep trying until you find what you CAN do. You WILL find it! (insert plug for calorie counting here)

I truly hope you all had a blessed Monday. I hope to have time to properly get caught up tomorrow.

    Blessings all!
  • HELLO EVERYONE ~ we had a busy day on the weekend; went to the lot for one whole day becuz it turned out sunny after all. It is hard to make plans, when the weather forecasters constantly predict rain and are wrong. So now, we are winging it. We stayed home to rest today, but may go out again tomorrow if it is nice. If it rains, we will go do a bit of shopping instead.

MELISSA ~ I wouldn't be able to stick to a plan like that at all; only rarely, if I'm in a hurry, I might have a couple of fruit for breakfast, but usually try to add a protein and complex carb like a slice of whole wheat toast. My body just won't let me away with anything that isn't balanced, so I'm with COUNTING and COURTNEY on this one. Look around this site, there are lots to choose from. Honestly, you can lose from any of these programs, you just have to find one you like.

I'm trying new tactics to get more daily exercise; a small walk in the morning and a longer one, 2 or 3 times a week. If I try to overdo it, I end up in pain; so I hope this plan works better for me: so far, so good.

ROMANS ~ the pic of your kiddies is adorable. I bet they will keep you on your toes too.

KAREN ~ that youtube of Ginger was wonderful; what a cutie she is, and just lovin' that ab contraption. She even seemed a bit annoyed with it for a second there; glad you got that on video and showed it to us. Our girls and NIKO were/are always making us laugh; one of their most precious qualities: a gift really. Still praying that things will turn out for you in the housing market this year.

COUNTING (Laurie) ~ Thanks, it's nice to be back; we had a great time. My SIS & BIL were very generous to us as always; and we had a ball laughing our heads off, reminiscing and playing games. We didn't do so well with the horseshoes, maybe we should try Courtney's Cornhole/bean toss instead; more our speed, I think!

COURTNEY ~ we had a terrible time trying to throw them to the pole; we had to move them to the beginner's 25 feet, then even take a handicap (a few more feet closer) on top of that. I think Cornhole or even POOR MAN'S GOLF would be much better for us.

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE and to all our MIA's as well!

Time to get some sleep. Take good care, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^^ PRAYERS^^ continue for all ...
  • Hi all. Well, we have returned from our camping trip. Very hot! Allie didn't make it the whole time and went home with my mom and dad...which was fine. Nate was a trooper and really enjoyed his birthday camping trip. I of course, tried to eat healthy but ate what i wanted in moderation. I will be glad when school starts up again and I can get my life back to routine....we have a few more trips planned. My hubby says all this getting away just means we aren't meant to be living down here anymore...so we are actively making steps to move closer to family. Well, take care all I will try to catch up!-Erin
  • Good Morning everyone! Thanks so much for all the compliments on Ginger! She really surprised when she did this on her own. But she made me laugh and that felt good!

Still haven't heard anymore on the house. Our realtor got in touch with us on Friday and said she had talked with another agent that wanted to make an offer. Not sure what the deal is, they wanted to make the offer, with a closing date in 6 months, and rent until then. I told our realtor that would really depend on just what the offer was. So far haven't heard anymore. It sure gets frustrating!

Well, I wanted to pop in and say Hello to everyone and hope you have a Wonderful Day!!
  • Well today I feel 100 times better... I think it was hard because ALL I was aloud to eat was the soup and veggies... I weighed in at 244 this morning! YAY! I can tell that its all water weight... Which is fine with me! Just let mek now Im losing something other than my mind! I had a really good work out this morning! I feel so great! Ive been walking a hour everyday, but today I finally went back to the gym! I had a wonderful time... I noticed that when i got in my car I wasnt hurting, I felt great! That made me so excited because Im sick of hurting after my workout... Now I know I can go and feel good when I leave! YAY! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day... I have to check on the kids, I can hear them screaming at each other! God BLESS!
  • HI GALS ~

I hope this finds everyone having a great day

Today is the final day of my first year of "journey of better choices"

I weighed 201 July 23rd last year and I weighed in this morning at 170 I am pretty proud of myself for staying with this "journey" all year.

I will be posting something on my journey in GOALS, probably tomorrow.

Angie and I are going out for Italian tonight to celebrate...probably anyway. She is doing yoga training from 8am until 6pm. We will be going if she isn't too tired. We have not been to this particular place but we have been to the owner's other two restaurants...very nice.

I have been off work for a couple of days. we are a little slow and I can spare a few days off allowing one of the other guys, with a family, to get some hours in. Our company is really busy and my part will be swamped in a couple of weeks...unfortunately it will be 9 hours from home!

MELISSA ~ Glad you are better today. I am happy that you are back at the gym and I hope the cabbage soup diet works for you.

KAREN ~ Good luck on that house, boy it has been a long time My son and daughter in law should here today about a house they put an offer in on. They actually made an offer for MORE than the asking price, they really want it...or so they think...and it had, I think, four offers on it the first day it went on sale. It isn't cheap either!

ERIN ~Glad the trip was fun!

ROSEBUD ~ I hope the weather holds out for you and you can start getting more walks in!

    SCOOTER ~HI

COURTNEY ~ I hope that ankle heals soon.

    WILMA ~How's work?

    AUNT SUE ~Camping?

    TRISH ~Church?

    ROMANS828 ~

SUPER K ~You may not have felt the children's sermon was inspirational but you never know "what" stuck with the kids Glad the reunion went well.

    HI EVERYONE

    Have a great day

Melissa - LOL - I haven't seen too many people that happy about their gym visit! Way to go!!!

Matilda - glad to see you back here. Wow - C25K - AWESOME! I hope you are doing the 3FC 5K next weekend!

Gary I'm so proud of you and so honored to have traveled this journey with you over the last year! What an inspiration and blessing you have been to us! And I can't WAIT to read your goal story!!!

I had a good day - it is cold and rainy here - so I probably won't get much gardening done. We are getting the shed ready to put up new siding, so I do have a few chores to do yet tonight.

I wish you all a blessed evening!
    Prayers ascending!!!

    Laurie

Thank you so much LAURIE...I will probably have time to post my story tomorrow. I think it may give some people some hope but I'm not sure it will be "good readin'"
